1st gen warm engine

I have a 00 Xterra 4wd and want to know if it takes these engines a while (over a few hours) to cool down after driving? Seems like my engine is really warm after driving and pulling in the garage. Everything seems fine, fans come one, coolant looks good and truck runs great. Maybe its just in my head.

Yes, it will take quite a while for a 200* hunk of metal to cool down, unless you have a constant cool breeze blowing across it.

even sitting outside it takes a while for mine to cool. air flow is pretty well directed on these engines.
