Greetings from Ohio
...just posting a few things about myself and "my" Xterra.
I have over 35 years of shade tree mechanics behind me, starting with the family vehicles supplied by the big three. I started Assembling Accords and Civics for Honda of America almost 30 years ago, working my way off of the Assembly line into Quality Control and then New Model Product Development - not really using my Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, but I am more familiar with the Japanese design characteristics of Honda, Toyota and Nissan than the big three.
Over the years I have owned and worked on a '98 Tacoma, an '86 CR-X, 3 Accords ('87, '89 and '92), 2 CR-V's ('99 and 2003) and a couple of S-10 pickups, a Buick Regal and a LeSabre, and a Ford Fairmont.
Love that Japanese design, reliability and quality - that's why there was no question when my daughter wanted an Xterra.
"My" Xterra is actually my 20 year old daughter's - but as "my Dad can fix almost anything" I am squarely in the hot seat to take care of maintenance and repairs.
I have posted under Repairs - the 2000 is DOA electrically at this point -any help is appreciated.
