Tire Width, HELP please!

:|HELP!!! PLEASE!!! lol,

Ok, I'm racking my brain over this one. Currently I have BFG AT2 255/70/R17. My X is a 2002 SE V6 Supercharged and lifted via the torsion bars (maxed). What I would like to know is how wide of a tire can I go? I'm happy with the height. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is 265 bigger than 255? I would assume so..

Thanks everyone :)

255 is the approximate tread width in mm. A 265 tire is more or less 10mm wider. My X came with 265x70R15 tires on it, as I have the 15" rims. Your larger rims and relatively tall sidewalls might make a wider tire a bit tighter of a fit, but I imagine a 265 would not be a problem. That's why 15" rims and the old float tire sizes are so much better for off road rides.

I have a 2004 XE Xterra with the 17" wheels from the supercharged model, no body lift or wheel well mod. will BFG LT 265/65R 17 T/A KO2 fit? If so will I need a body lift and or wheel well mod? Thanks
Yes those will fit. You shouldnt have to do any trimmig since those are stock size and KO2's arent really a super beefy tread. I have the same size tires except Goodyear Duratracs on my 2002 SE supercharged with no issues.

1) 2001 XE
2) PML, 2" BL and removal of front plastic
3) Nissan Stock
4) 15x7
5) Stock
6) BF Goodrich A/T KO2
7) 33x10.5R15

I was nervous that these weren't going to fit when I picked them up from a Tire Rack sale. However, with the lifts and the fact that BFG's 33's are only 32", they went on with plenty of room to spare for offroad articulation.

These KO2's are (marginally) more comfortable and quieter than my old 31" BFG AT/KO's. Despite my sad bank account, this is pretty much a win.

No tire rubbing on the road or turns but just got the wheels and tires today so going to flex it out and then see what needs to be trimmed, if anything. The tires are used so maybe a little smaller than if they were brand new.

Hi Guys. My first post here. Thought I'd come here first to ask about tire recommendations. I'm not going to be doing any lift mods/plastic trimming/banging/etc. I just want to put on the biggest off-road tire without having any rubbing. All recommendations are greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge. Cheers!

1) 2004 Xterra XE 4X4
2) No Mods
3) Stock Height
4) 265/70/R15 tires
5) Stock rims - 15"

Will a BFG - AT T/A KO2 32x11.5xR15 work? Any other suggestions?

That tire size is too big if you don't have a suspension lift and/or body lift. I have a 3" Calmini suspension lift and I run 32x11.5r15's BFG KO2's on 4.25 backspaced wheels, and I get a touch of rubbing at the rear section of the front wheel wells after I pounded back the inner fender wheel well metal and plastic.

With no lift, I believe 31 inch tires should fit without rubbing, but I may be incorrect about that.
