Recently picked up my first pistol - a Ruger LC9. Beautiful little thing.
Need some suggestions. I'm looking to grab a shotgun, and I really had my heart set on a Mossberg 500 JIC (the little pistol-grip in a tube) because I loved the idea of having a grab-n-go. Mostly for zombies. But realistically, this is not a movie. Those things are not easy to shoot by any means. Instead, I found this little number:
Basically the same setup, but it has a shoulder stock and no pistol grip. I'd rather have control of my gun than not, ya know? I'd really like a lighted forend, too.
Anyway, suggestions needed: I want something bolt-action with a scope. Or maybe scoped & clipped? I'm not sure which direction I want to take that in, but I'd like to keep it simple & cheap. Looked at a few Ruger scoped .22 rifles. Any recommendations?
C15A1. Did some more parts swapping to put it into a "M16A1" setup for about the late 60's. Only thing I need to change is the upper if I feel froggy enough to to it.
The P226 is a great weapon. I had the P229 and I loved everything about it. Unfortunately I no longer have it but as soon as I get the chance I will be grabbing another. Girene, How do you like the P250? I'm thinking about purchasing one and am just curious how you like the modular design.
Don't really have anything to swap it out with but its nice to have an option (not that it matters, I have have firearms in 9mm and .45 so with the .40 that has my bases covered).
I wanted something compact but with a bit more punch than a Makarov. Another SHTF weapon.
Its okay. The Double Action Only is interesting to get used to and sadly I can still shoot straighter with my 1911A1. I need more time to break it in at the range and get a feel for it before I can make a call.
Critical opinion from others seems to be you either like it or you don't. A 226 is on my wishlist for down the road though.
After nearly a decade of looking for the right price on a M1 or an M2 would you believe I found a good deal on a new Benelli M2 Tactical in the middle of all this panic buying hysteria? :mocking:
Love it so far and have some parts coming for it. Only pic I have picking it up.
Hell I don't... I can't afford to replace the ammo and my complex will evict me if I get caught reloading.
Did you see my thread in the regionals on the other site about long distance ranges? Found out there are quite a few long yardage ranges within reasonable driving distance. I've really been wanting to stretch out my... er... WATCH somebody shoot really far with a .308.

We ought to try Skyline at some point didn't know it was had 200. Not really challenging for the bolt guns but would be nice to do a little carbine work and I'd like to run the AK's at that range. May need you to isolate the shooter from the equation on the AK.

A sound tactic. Well if we are ever home at the same time in the coming weeks, and I am not building an ark to cope with this never ending rain, we can go hit it up. I heard there are some trails up in the Skyline WMA that are fun too. I'll have to talk to the RCRC guys to get the info on them. I still have to do that for Tam as well.
You Americans and your sweet guns...I have a Mossberg 715t so far. Hand guns are restricted here in Canada. I'm licensed to own them but the only place I could shoot it would be at the range. No concealed carry thing up here, and even if I had a big chunk of property, I couldn't shoot it there either so I'm on the fence of actually getting one.
Now that I have the cheap .22 I'm looking to get a nice hunting rifle and a shotgun. Having overcome my GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) with guitars, I'm only in the market for things with a purpose so I doubt the collection will get that large.Maybe...
Shooting in a precision rifle match in two weeks with a buddy and got a chance to go shoot a bit and verify dope. Range is 750 yards shooting steel with my Remington 700 in .308
Mine in the foreground, my buddies 5Rin .308 and AE in .260 in the background. He also brought his AW in .308.
The range
600 yard target 3 shots
750 yard target 3 shots two different points of aim.
I missed the tactical carbine match 2 weeks ago. Apparently I missed a good one One of the stage cars from the match.
