Hey everyone. My 03 X has a broken rear sway bar mount. I know I have read in the forums before about people pulling the sway bar out, but I can't find any pro's or con's to removing it. I do go off the trail once and a while, but it spends most of it's time on pavement or gravel. Im leaning towards just pulling it off, but thought I'd see what everyone had to say first.
It is useless.. When you pull it off, you will never notice that it is gone.
Also it rubs against your passenger side shock and can break that. There is no reason to keep it, unless you are just sentimentally attached to something that is hurting your car.
no attachment, just didn't wanna do something that might mess up alignment or who knows what else. I'm no mechanic, but not scared of nuts and bolts. It'll be removed today, thanks for the reply!
if you're not sure do what I did. I cut the end links to the body [bolts wouldn't loosen] then took off the brackets on the axle. It sat on the garage floor for a couple of months just in case. went to the dump 2 days ago in a clean up. I haven't noticed it gone at all. Yeah the truck leans heavily on on ramps, but it did anyway. just have to remember it never will handle turns like my civic does. [but it's way better in snow/ mud etc]
