Hello my fellow X-friends!!! I'm a FNG and haven't made a New member introduction yet cause I wanted to test her out a little first to let you know how I feel about Mrs. X. First a little about my self. I'm a full time Firefighter/EMT on a paid department and a Captain on a Volunteer fire department. I'm also a Full time Dad and love every bit of it!!! So my story of how I ended up here. I went to a dealership to trade in my 02 Dodge Dakota in for a 05 jeep Grand Cherokee with a bunch of offroad gear already on it. We took the Jeep for a test drive and came back to the dealership and my exact words was I do not want this piece of shit. Dealer said lets look at some other trucks. I said okay and he pointed out my X and I knew I was leaving that lot in it. So after a long paper work bs session with the dealer I left the lot with a full tank of gas and a happy girlfriend and son. The next day it was time to move my old head unit in to my new X since the Rockford system didn't have a aux plug and I couldn't hook up the new satellite radio tuner I just bought for my other head unit. Of course I had to call Crutchfield and ask them what I need to get this a hooked up and got it ordered. I received it in the mail a few days later and was excited to get it put in cause my old cds were no good and getting old over and over again! Got everything hooked up except the antenna thinking it wouldnt matter. 3 beers a few aspirin and 5 hours later I found out it did thanks to this site Clubxterra! So I had my tunes and was ready to add a few other things and deck it out and read on here maybe I should test it out stock before and see how everything goes. I went ahead and took my sway bar off reading that it can cause damage to the right rear shock anyways. That same day I went to a little trail that is made every time the lake goes down. I pulled up to the ledge and my girlfriend was like I don't know about this what if its illegal I said who cares. She replied with that ledge is pretty steep and I said UH HUH! I got out and took a look thinking that might reasure her a little bit, got back in and said HERE WE GO! She said are you sure I put it in drive and made way to the ledge and dropped in like a skateboarder would on a half pipe and I had the biggest grin on my face the rear view mirror wasn't big enough to see. We drove around in the mud, in between slipping and sliding and with not a care in the world it was AMAZING!!! Started back to the road after playing for a little bit and my girlfriend said I sure hope we can make it out of here. I said it will be no problem thinking about the slope that we dropped in to get down there with a little worried in the back of my mind. we approched the slope and made it up without skipping a beat no problem. My girlfriend had the biggest smile and gave me Knucks (fist bump) and said that was awesome! I was speechless and started laughing cause she was whiteknucking the OH SHIT HANDLE when we made way down the slope to begin with. I left the mud on the X and let mother nature take care of it. That night I seen the LOBO rack mod and completed it on my X and so far that and the sway bar is all I have done to my X and so far thats all I plan to do till I find something else that shines a light in my eyes. I love my X and I plan to have one till I can't drive anymore!!! Thanks.:rofl-big:

Welcome to the club!

I love seeing Firefighters rocking the X, my dad is a Captain at the Douglas Fire Dept. and I've been working on my EMT cert for a few months now.

Sounds like you were having a blast! Even stock these things can get all sorts of places

Take some pics when you've got the X out there covered in mud  those are always great to see!

Take care and we'll see you around!
