Yeah it's almost impossible to get a body on frame vehicle into the 20 MPG range. Be easy on the throttle and keep up on all the maintenance and it'll roam in the mid to high teens.
NGK is pretty much the gold standard when it comes to good plugs and wires though. Iridium.
Replaced the whatever POS +4 spark plugs with NGK PFR5G-11, immediate improvement. I think they were $19 at Advanced. Just watch those back 2 plugs, take your time. Dono whos getting 19mpg but I envy them, I hover around 14
I have a 2000 se that just hit 200,000 miles and have had no problem and pretty good mileage with E3 spark plugs...just my 2 cents
