Let's hear it! It should be an ongoing thread. Whatever you did, big or small!

Today, I:

Uploaded photos onto a USB, hooked it up to my HU, and put my fiancee as the screen saver. She is hot.

Where do you get Rattle Be Gone and how is it applied?
There are multiple application methods that can be used. For this particular application, I needed a flat-bladed screwdriver and a bit of lube (I used elbow grease).

After a moment or two to diagnose exactly what locations were rattling, all it took was several well placed turns of the screw driver, ample elbow grease applied (the screws were well rusted on the hose clamps the previous owner used previously) and my 1.5 remaining heat shields just came right off! no more rattle!

The website for BrewGuyTim's Rattle-B-Gone® is forth-coming, as we're only in trial runs at this point, but it should be available at your neighborhood retailer (AutoZone, O'reilly, WalMart, etc) within the next millenia. :)

took off wind deflector to clean up the gunk in sunroof drain holes and ended up liking the look better then with it on so i left it off, plus it was making a really really annoying noise at highway speed so be glad thats gone and i also sealed up the front glass holders on the sunroof with clear silicone and used some left over high mileage oil and a paper towel to carefully (so as not to get oil on paint) to rub oil on the rubber seal on outside of sunroof especially were the wind deflector was as it was dried out bad there i want to make sure my sunroof is water proof from now on and my wind noise goes down as well

What peaks my curiosity is... How does it stop things from rattling and what is the application? Is it painted on? Is it like tape? Rubber?

Gotten a quote from Nissan to flush the transmission fluid and radiator fluid. That'll be coming up in the near future as the heater's not working unless I'm moving. Sucks when my windshield is iced over and I can't defrost it without scraping it.

I've also thrown holy water on mine and had a priest pray over it to hopefully prevent a SMOD.

Swapped in a set of Bilstein's, wow what a difference! If anyone is interested Summit Racing has the best price I have found @ $75ea with free 2-day shipping.

A couple days ago I also had to replace my alternator that just died suddenly after 137,365 Miles and 12 years.

I replaced my Alt last week as well. I put on an '02 Nissan Quest Alt for extra power if I should ever add any lighting/power accessories.

Yesterday and today...Replaced timing belt, tensioner, water pump, t-stat, drive belts, and cleaned up radiator...took me about 20 hours (oil changes and brakes were about the extent of my mechanical experience before), but it's done and the X fired right up beautifully.

Ha, sure thing! Be sure to give yourself a couple hours just to scrape the stupid water pump gasket off, that was the biggest P.I.T.A. of the whole job

How did that go? Where did you get the alt?
It was ok. I followed the How To that was posted in the DIY section. I had to pull it out an extra time because I didn't grind down some of the edges enough. The Quest alt is larger than the stock alt for the X. It cost me $179.00. I don't recall if the $27.00 core charge was on top if the $179.00 or if it was included.

I bought mine at Advance Auto. I'm sure any parts supplier carries a 2000 - 2004 Nissan Quest Alternator.

Good luck.
