Roof Rack Compatability

So about 5 months ago I was driving to Austin from Houston in my 2000 4x4 SE and about halfway there I start to hear a horrible rattling sound coming from air dam. I pulled over at a gas station and saw that the rubber strip that runs along the bottom of the air dam where it "connects" with the body had somehow flown off. I didn't have the roof rack tool with me since I had just the weekend before used it not for its inteded purpose (I was using it to hold up cans in the back yard while I taught my nephew to shoot a bb gun), so I had to drive on with the horrible noise. not too bad in city driving but on the highway it's awful. made to Austin no problem but about 40 miles out of Houston on my way back it suddenly got significantly worse and turns out it cracked almost completely in half.
I like the look of the roof rack on the new x's, anybody know if any of those parts are compatible with the 1st gens? I don't care too much for the other rack options out there, but if I need to replace the air dam, I thought I'd at least get the scoop on if the new parts fit. wouldn't mind putting the proX style with the lights on top of my ride...

thanks

The gen 2 roof rack is actually smaller than a gen 1 width wise. I measured because I was going to swap the gen 1 basket for the gen 2 box but couldn't.
