Hi guys I'm about to lose my mind I bought the wiring harness 70-7551 and connected it how it explains and still cant get power to the head unit someone please help me!!! Am I missing something?
if it only works with the antenna plugged in, you still need a ground wire. in most nissans they dont ground through the harness but through the chassis mount.
how many of the four factory plugs do you use when wiring an aftermarket deck?
or can anyone tell me what each of these plugs are? i know two are for the radio and one is for the steering controls
I am installing a kenwood ddx372bt into my fosgate xterra. I can get power but no sound. I have a blue/white and a black/white not connected. I suspect this is part of the issue but I do not know where to connect them. This is my first install......in case it was not obvious.
Where you go from there depends on what year you have. The first gen stereo info is in the electrical system chapter. Later on the info was put in a separate chapter. "fwd.pdf" is the table of contents. The wiring color codes can be found in chapter GI under "how to read wiring diagrams".
thanks for your help. I did not have the amp power hooked. (blue and white cable to the P.cont) works now. The only current issue is the loud pop when switching form dvd to iPod to tuner ...ect. Is this a grounding issue or do I need to get a ground loop isolator?
likely a grounding issue. make sure your ground points are free of paint. It may also help to ground all components at the same location. also check any RCA connections you may have.
