Every fall it goes on. Its held by the guys at Upoverland.org I think they limit it to 20 trucks but if you get on the waiting list you'll likely get in. Its a great trip, not difficult wheeling I ran about 95% in 4x2. But, its exploration at its finest. I went alone this year with my girlfriend and just used my GPS to run their GPS tracks. Was fun as I could go at a much faster pace and often sleep at campsites with no soul in sight. The private beaches were a huge bonus. Plenty of great trails. Its essentially a public road system. The trails have stop signs and traffic markings. But, they mostly seem to be unmaintained dirt roads running through thick forest. Mix it a lot of rain or a couple whoops and large pot holes and it gets entertaining. I live in Illinois but make the 8 hour drive every fall. Not a tourist trap if you know your way around. Knowledge is power in that area. I'd look up the guys at upoverland.org if your a local or just want more info on exploring.
