Im not sure that there was an option to have an outside temp/directional rearview mirror for this year X. If so, I want to get it for my wifes truck. If it was an option, has anyone done this before? Is all the wiring already there waiting to be hooked up?

A little help/guidance would be appreciated!

The auto-dimming mirror/compass was available in 05. But I do not believe the wiring is in place on models sold without it.

I heard the opposite, that the harness was in there, but you have to fish/connect the ends...and it has to be calibrated to work properly.

My sources on this are probably no more reliable than the ones who say the wiring isn't there, so I suppose you could just look.

It would make sense for the wires to be there, yet I heard they were not. Possibly the person simply couldn't locate them.

I have looked in my 05 X and there wsan't any wiring I could find. I have ordered a GenTex Mirror. You can find them on Ebay for a reasonable price. They come with all the wiring needed, and as soon as I get a free minute I'm going to put mine in with a write up.

That mirror comes with Temp and Direction, as well as with 3 homelink buttons.
