: I don't own an X (yet) but want to build some stuff for them
AJsArmor 04-02-2009, 10:18 AM It's just a matter of time before I own one, have liked them since they first came out. I own/operate AJ's Offroad Armor and I don't mean to spam, I'm just here to try and gain feedback on some new products and find people locally to work with in prototyping.
:wink-big:
AJsArmor 04-02-2009, 10:27 AM That is kinda important I suppose.:aufkopfhauen-big: Eastern Iowa, more specifically Lamont.
He's in Lamont, IA.
FWIW, Some decent Rock Sliders with steps that still look nice to replace OEM running boards on the Armada and Titan would be a big hit also. The few sliders we have available are kinda lame so we've been pretty much limited to N-Fab and Go Rhino Dominator II step rails. <yuck> :D
TN4x4Xterra 04-02-2009, 11:42 AM Welcome!
Looking forward to the prototypes!
json3904 04-02-2009, 12:22 PM glad to have you...

Would they interchange between the Armada and Titan at all?

Here's the prototype pic of the 2nd gen SuperRails. Still trying to find someone local for the first gen.

unconformity 04-14-2009, 06:29 AM those look nice! ... wish i was closer to Iowa i'd drive my happy ass out there..
Drake 04-14-2009, 06:45 AM Nice work!
Some features you might want to consider as add-on options would be kick-outs. I went with custom sliders with a kickout and it provides a step up to the roof but it also protects the sidewall of the tires when you're in the rocks and ruts.
AJsArmor 04-14-2009, 07:05 AM Do you have a pic showing this kickout? Maybe it's just early in the day but I have no idea what that is.
I've ran into a few Xterras locally and asked them about it....unfortunately my response was "why would I want to do that, the factory steps are great." So it's just just a matter of finding the right person.
unconformity 04-14-2009, 08:12 AM the factory steps are great if you wanna keep the truck on pavement... lol...

The hoop at the back-end is the "kickout". Some have them both front and back.

unconformity 04-14-2009, 09:28 AM oh!!! those are a good idea... i think thats how i'll design mine ... except i want the square tubing... not much for the round shit..

Planning on it, not sure when though.
Cool idea on the kickout! Our main tube sits a little further out than that one so it puts the outer hoop out a bit more, I'll get the pics when he installs them.
breezy 04-14-2009, 05:25 PM any interest in making 2nd gen skids also?

Yes, but I think we might go a different route and use UHMW plastic, keeps the weight down a bit but still does an excellent job.
buckethead47 04-17-2009, 05:02 PM i like those sliders with the rear kick out. i would think square tubing would be a b**** to bend like that.
MRT555 04-17-2009, 05:08 PM I like the Kick out too. Hopefully Aj and I will be able to meet up next weekend, or on the 2nd so he can get the measurements he needs for the 1st Gens.
