superyellowxterra 03-22-2009, 04:55 PM so i totaled my 03 jeep liberty on february 6th :(:(
http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/43/totaledjeep.jpg
and got the check from the insurance company for $4200 (after they paid it off):hilarious: and after borrowing a little from my boyfriend, i paid $6200 cash for my 2002 yellow xterra supercharged in basically perfect condition! It only had 94K miles on it and looked brand spanking new except for the rip and missing bolts on the passenger side lower front bumper.http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/9791/xterraside.jpghttp://img11.imageshack.us/img11/531/xterrrabacka.jpghttp://img10.imageshack.us/img10/194/xterrrafront.jpg
here she is. man i love having this sexy beast (minus the gas mileage but its cool, gas is pretty cheap right now) and i cant wait to start getting some mods on it. i am hopefully going to convert it from a 2WD to a 4x4 so i can go wheeling with my bf in his jeep cherokee lifted with 32" mud tires (seen kinda in that first picture of the x)!
anyway, here i am and i cant wait to get to know you guys!!:wink-big:

Welcome to CX! :wink-big:
X2 on the timing belt. VERY important. Also, you may just want to do a drain and fill for your tranny instead of a flush. I've read and been told that vehicles with higher mileage (80K+) are better off with just a drain and fill. Flushing the tranny could dislodge debris in the torque converter where it will then get trapped in the tranny and do some damage.
The X looks so much better than a Puberty... I mean Liberty! :mocking:
superyellowxterra 03-23-2009, 02:27 PM hahha thanks for the recommendation about the tranny "not " flush and yea i agree...although i do miss my liberty!
X_X_X 03-23-2009, 09:38 PM Welcome to the club. Good luck with the X!!

i noticed something. she has a supercharged xterra but no supercharged trim. anyone see that.
wtf
good catch
doesnt have the s/c wheels or roof rack crossbars even
Broden21 03-24-2009, 07:15 PM thanks
i saw that and i was like wtf.
superyellowxterra take a picture of under the hood!!
but she does have the s/c exhaust.
but she does have the s/c exhaust.
? what do you mean
Broden21 03-24-2009, 07:21 PM the s/c models have a different exhaust. look at the rear end picture of hers. and look at the tip.
then look at mine
http://i427.photobucket.com/albums/pp359/Broden21/P1130002.jpg
see the difference
i was always good at the "whats different with this picture" game when i was a kid
it could just be an exhaust tip
Broden21 03-24-2009, 07:45 PM it could be but i dont think it is. i know that the s/c ones have a different exhaust
superyellowxterra 03-24-2009, 09:08 PM well i took off the roof rack stuff last week to wax it and just havent put it back on. i also have the super awesome "chrome" hubcaps (what came with it when i bought it) in the garage but took them off cause they squeaked and were annoying as all get out. i will get a picture under the hood tomorrow. as for the trim, what is it i am missing? like i said, i am new lol and i bought it from a private owner.
Broden21 03-24-2009, 09:11 PM on the s/c xterra the roof rack stuff is all dark gray. they have 17" rims and they have gray step rails. too.
also whats your name so we dont have to call you superyellowxterra. lol you should make a signature.
should look like this
http://images.autoshopper.com/FL/Lee/f6823/photos/3119ls0102.jpg
superyellowxterra 03-24-2009, 09:17 PM hahh first of all, my name is Ashleigh (pronounced ashley)
and i hope y'all dont think that i am lying about it being supercharged haha. it is a 2002 so idk if that makes a difference in the colors or not? but it is for sure supercharged. and its funny you say what colors things are supposed to be because my bf has been saying that i need to make everything grey haha
Broden21 03-24-2009, 09:24 PM hey ashleigh im Brendon (pronounced Brendon) lol
no not at all i just think its odd that its different.

I could be wrong but that Intake Manifold looks more like it's on a 3.3L V6 to me. I thought the S/C is on the 2.2L inline 4-cyl, isn't it?? I don't know the Xterra well yet, I'm still learning about y'all's trucks. :)
superyellowxterra 03-24-2009, 09:47 PM no mine is a 3.3L V6
So, the S/C is on a 3.3L V6??? Then why aren't those things kicking out more power than they are?? I would think they should be able to smoke any tires put on them.

i know but the colors of the trim are painted like a s/c one
dejablue 03-26-2009, 06:41 AM welcome from texas
J Everett 03-26-2009, 11:06 AM Hey Ashleigh from Texas! I'm Jason from Louisiana! What part of Dallas? I have friends in McKinney and Allen.

Yeah, the S/C's were blown 3.3L X's. I wanted one very badly when they first came out, but couldn't afford one. I also wondered why they weren't more powerful. A 3.3L engine running 5lbs of boost should be a 300+ hp engine, depending on the compression ratio.
superyellowxterra 03-30-2009, 10:35 AM [QUOTE=J Everett;121733]Hey Ashleigh from Texas! I'm Jason from Louisiana! What part of Dallas? I have friends in McKinney and Allen.
heyy! i am all over dallas, haha. plano a lot, parents are in carrollton, go to school in denton, run a delivery route in mckinney/allen, denton, and plano.
:wink-big:

Damn girl! You're all over town! I've been up that way a bunch of times, and those are the areas I'm most familiar with, all on the north side of Dallas/Ft. Worth. I really like Grapevine and Plano; my wife and I have considered moving there several times. Where do y'all go off-roading? I saw some pretty country out near Weatherford and Graham. Ever head out that way?
superyellowxterra 03-30-2009, 11:09 AM hahh yea. we go off-roading out in garland, george bush and cambell area. i have gone out to graham cause my great grandma lives there in a nursing home but other than that, i havent done much out there hah.
Mojoe 03-30-2009, 04:00 PM congrats on the new ride. I always like the X in yellow, but could not find a SC model when I was shopping for one.
I am confused about your rims, though. I was always under the impression that the regular model had 4 spoke 16in rims and the SC model had 17in 5 spoke rims.
And I believe the SC also had a larger exhaust system. isn't it something like 2in for the reg model, and 2.5 for the sc? or 2.5 vs. 3 in. I do know that they are different. the SC also has a stainless system....not sure if the regular ones do. I know mine is stainless.
anyway....doesn't matter. you still have a nice looking X ;)
as for the rim question...it just occurred to me that the previous owner could have very well swapped the rims out for the same reason I am considering it. when I bought 4 new blizzaks for mine this winter, the price was $800+ for my 265/65R/17's......where if I had 16 in rims I could have gotten the same 4 tires for about $600. needless to say, I am picking up 4 16in rims for when my blizzaks are worn out and going to save myself $200+ on winter tires in the future.
TN4x4Xterra 04-01-2009, 05:38 PM Welcome!
I'm Stevin (pronounced Steven).....nice job on starting the Girls with Xterras thread! Kudos to you!
superyellowxterra 04-01-2009, 11:40 PM haha thanks stevin...and thanks for the april fool's joke on my bf, he got me pretty good today but i was never that good at pranking others. glad someone got him!
CristofoliniX 04-09-2009, 09:19 PM I have an aunt that lives down in Graham (hope I spelled it right). I've thought about taking a road trip... now maybe I can hit up some trails if I ever do go down...
