That's excellent! I was raised to always pack out more garbage than I packed in when Dad took us hiking or camping. To this day I practice that, and definitely hope others on this forum do the same.

Do they have a National Beach Cleanup Day in Cali?

I dont know about Cali you could check with the state land management office maybe they could point you in the right direction. Here in Tx they have several programs like the one I posted it takes place several times a year we go about 20-30 miles down you have to have 4x4 no one cleans up this area its to much area for the limited resources the Gov./State gives the parks. I typically go 2-3 times a year and pick up as much as I can load into the truck.
