Hey to all,

I am an old guy from central Arkansas fixin' to buy an '00 Xterra 170k mi. I know the man selling it and he took good care of it but it started acting up so he got a new CJ and left the Xterra to rot in his yard. That was '07.

I went and looked at it today and it started right up but idles like crap. No codes. We'll see what happens but he only wants $1500 and I can drive it home. No dents or rot anywhere.

It's a black XE V6 2wd with both option packages. Hood needs paint maybe but it should clean up really well.

Thanks for having me

good find. Best bet would be to check witht he dealer and see if the Fuel Sending Unit has been replaced/cleaned under recall. If not I'd start checking for vacuum leaks and maybe do a good tuneup. Plugs, filters, oil change, PCV valve, Wires, Distributor cap & rotor.

Thanks for the welcome guys,

After lurking here for the last few days reading and figuring, I might just go for a new distributor and see what happens. I will check fuel supply and such also as a matter of course once I get her to house.

Jason,

Is that offer for posting the pictures or getting this thing running right?

Here she is.

Did I mention she's been sittin' for a while under the pines?

comments? Snide remarks are welcome.

Remember only 1500 and I drove it home!

Thanks for looking,

The hood could use a wax job.....and looks like your rear tire is spare, not the alloy rim?

Looks good though.

Stevin,

Good eye. The spare is on the truck cause the guy had a flat and never got it fixed. The original wheel and good flat tire are in the back with the hubcap.

The hood is covered with caked on pollen. It definately needs help.

Installed new distributor, replaced one vacuum line, 5 gallons of seafoam, (not really) and she is running like a top.

Paid the guy today too, $1435.

Now all I gotta do is compound the hood and detail inside.

smiles, I want to thank all you guys (gender inclusive) for taking the time to post all the info on this site. It has already saved me a ton of parts chasing.
