just bought a 04 xterra se v6 4x4 and is still trying to figure out how everything works and where everything goes. searched but couldn't pull up anything:

1. how the heck do i change the front turn signal lamps? do i need to remove the headlamp housings to get to them? i can't find holes big enough for my hands to squeeze into :aufkopfhauen-big:

2. how do i use the 4wd function? do i need to shift the normal auto stick into "D" or "neutral" first then shift to 2H, 4H.. etc?

sorry for such newbie questions.. forgive me :engel-big:

If your instruction sticker fell off, this should help.

Essentially, you can shift into 4wd if not moving, all of the time.

If rolling, the slower the easier, and you'd clutch in...the gear shift can be in any gear when you shift the t-case.

Notice the push - pull notes on the t-case shifter section...that refers to pushing the shifter down or pulling it up from its boot, not rowing it back and forth from the dash back to you, etc.

Also note that your hubs are auto...so once engaged, they stay engaged...even if you shift back to 2wd on the t-case....unless after shifting back into 2wd you also roll about 3-10' Backwards to disengage the hubs.

It doesn't hurt anything to leave the hubs locked though, except some extra drag on the drivetrain (MPG).

Hope that helps for now!

Just noticed you do have an auto tranny - read the instructions for automatic transmissions - follow that.
