: Bad luck with my Xterra...........AGAIN
X-Mex 02-28-2009, 05:21 AM so i recently posted a story about getting stuck in the mud in early January. my bad luck continues with story number 2.
about 3 weeks ago, almost a month now, some kids decided they wanted to set some cars on fire. i live in Downingtown, PA. the neighboring city is Coatesville. they've been in the news for awhile now, nationally, about people setting over20 houses on fire deliberately. well, these 2 kids in MY town decided they wanted to copy the other guys, but light cars on fire instead.
:usuck:
long story short, they damaged 5 cars that night. 1 they opened and doused the inside with gasoline and lit the whole car up, completely destroyed. 4(including mine), just suffered mild to sever body damage.
it seems they weren't able to get the rag that was lit down into my gas tank, so they left it there. damage was done to the area around it, the inside of the gas cap compartment, part of the wheel well, the gas funnel, and part of the window was burned. fortunately, insurance paid for it: $1300, with a fresh, full tank of Sunoco 93octane.
greentennx 02-28-2009, 05:48 AM Man that sucks. Kid's now a days seem to be just running wild. I put up motion sensor light's around my house because of stuff like this.
timb. 02-28-2009, 06:58 AM dude....take lemons and make lemonade. that 1300 will cover all your mods to your xterra. get a scraper and scrape and bondo and rattle can and get moving. that will cover a new body lift, a used supension lift, and new tires.
alpine spirit 02-28-2009, 08:27 AM That sucks.... I dont use motion lights... I use signs.

TTheInfamous1 02-28-2009, 09:00 AM That's really horrible. Really sorry that happened. These kids today are ridiculous and they do some foul stuff. I liked to pull pranks when I was younger, but lighting a car up or some other crazy destructive things they do are really out of hand. I don't know what kind of brains these kids have now a days. Things like that make me appreciate having a garage to park in.
Good luck with everything. I hope you find out who these kids were if they haven't been caught yet.
TN4x4Xterra 02-28-2009, 10:12 AM Dang it man....that really sucks about those kids nowadays....makes me appreciate my alarm system and locking gas cap
X-Mex 02-28-2009, 10:41 AM they were caught a few hours after they did everything. the responding officer to a vehicle fire followed their tracks in fresh snow back to one of the kids' house. 2 kids, 14 and 17 years old, doing 18 months in Juvie. now i just gotta wait a while for the parents to be taken to court and and pay up for the 4 vehicles that were damaged and the 1 that was completely destroyed. so i wont be getting my deductible anytime soon.
TN4x4Xterra: i actually went out today and bought a locking cap, gotta put it on.
skoobysx 02-28-2009, 11:10 AM WOW!! Id be PISSED!!! Insurance cover it??
Stickle 02-28-2009, 12:37 PM I wish kids around here weren't so lazy, we have not had a fire in weeks. I'm just kidding I'm glad no one was hurt.
Creepy Cruiser 02-28-2009, 01:26 PM I blame it on the BS with safe toys, safe and sane fireworks, and helmet laws, lol (no natural selection anymore.)
greentennx 02-28-2009, 01:30 PM I agree Creepy.
X-Mex 02-28-2009, 05:55 PM WOW!! Id be PISSED!!! Insurance cover it??
fortunately they did, but i had to come up with $500 for my deductible, which i wont' be getting back for a LOONG time 'till the whole thing is sorted out through the courts.
Xterra Mike 02-28-2009, 06:39 PM Dude that really sucks. I'm in Philly so i know whats been happening in Downingtown. They supposily caught the 2 kids that have been setting the house fires but there are some copy cats going around. That really sucks. I guess thats what the insurance is for. It sucks that the parents have to pay but someone has to.
Creepy Cruiser 02-28-2009, 07:27 PM I blame a bunch on the parents also though, if the kids where taught right from wrong with a little discipline, (that you never see hardly anymore now a days), this crap wouldn't happen so often. I spend everyday, all day with my son, and I can tell you with quite certan , he won't be doing any of that crap later in life, lol.
:aufkopfhauen-big:
BTW, he is becoming quite the little fabricator now too, lol.
TTheInfamous1 02-28-2009, 08:20 PM TN4x4Xterra: i actually went out today and bought a locking cap, gotta put it on.
Locking cap... Sounds like a good investment. Where can you get one? Any auto-parts store? Any specific brand to suggest?
silverbullet 02-28-2009, 08:23 PM Stant FTW when it comes to locking gas caps.
TTheInfamous1 02-28-2009, 08:26 PM Nice.. Thanks for the info.
aznboihoy03 02-28-2009, 09:37 PM dayym! dude id be head huntin if i were you, fckin young punks! but ill admit ive done stupid sh*t but nothing as bad as trying to light someones car on fire. good thing your x is still intact and look at the bright side, you got money for more mods!
X-Mex 03-01-2009, 05:07 AM yeah. they found 2 of the kids that were setting the hosues on fire in Coatesville. one of them was a firefighter, which is quite common actually.
i got a locking cap at walmart, $14 bucks. seems to work good, don't know if there's any difference really in brands/pricing. put it on and it seems nice and sturdy, but i didn't REALLY try and get through it, haha.
and i actually WAS going to go head hunting. my friend knows one of the kids that did it and she told me he lived actually about 1/4 mile from my house, almost on the same street. i was gonna go pay him a little visit, but i figured it would just make matters worse. plus, they're both in Juvie now, so maybe i'll go there and visit them! haha
Xterra Mike 03-01-2009, 07:24 AM Some times, Nismo, its better to let the law handle these punks. I think about it all the time if i saw someone messin with my X or other shit i got which Gun would i use? I got a 9mm glock, .40 Ruger and 2 12 guage shot guns. But in the end is it really worth it? If i shoot someone messin with my stuff and i kill them (which i will possibly do with the 12 guage) then i go to jail for a really long time cause they were no threat to me. Sometimes you have to think before you react. Its just not worth it. My family and friends are too important to me.
dylan0123 12-08-2009, 05:34 PM ah, shoot 'em in the leg and call the cops. jk
just walk up behind them with the 12 gauge while they're in the act, cock it, and point it at them. make them pee their pants til the cops arrive! lol
raiderfernie 12-08-2009, 06:08 PM that sucks man....for being as old as those kids are, juvie sounds a bit lite to me. i would of pushed for a harsher sentence.
X-Mex 12-08-2009, 06:10 PM I wasn't even told of the court date. Nor was I put in the restitution "contract"'. I'm still waiting for reimbursement.
