Hey - We met at Rausch Creek/ECXC!

:D

Speaking of LTB's...I was considering them, I could tell they'd be good in mud, but, on the rocks, how'd they wrap/grip?

I keep forgetting to ask LTB'rs about that...

:D

Oh - Nice Pics!

Hey - We met at Rausch Creek/ECXC!

Yes we did, and again at Centralia, thanks for the directions!

I love them. They grabbed on pretty much any surface. The real test was saturday at Rausch in the rain, and they were awesome. Mud, rock climb on the powerline trail, stumps on the 101 trail, I didn't get stuck or slide one time.

The only thing that surprised me was the sidewall stiffness. I started at 20 psi and they seemed too hard, so I ran them at 18psi and they were still standing straight, even tho they are bias. If you're gonna do a lot of larger rocks, they'd have to be down around 13-15 I would guess.

That's typical for a swamper. :D

The thick ass side walls resist rocks, but also support the weight of the truck...which is sometimes why they don't wrap well....too stiff to flex........which is why I asked about it.

:D

I am really glad to hear that they are grabbing though...I've been looking long and hard at a set of LTB's, like a 33x13.5/16's as play tires (I'm assuming that they are horrendous on the street?)

They are horrible on the street; I run the stock grabbers as daily drivers. For the price, though, how can you resist? I only paid $105 each, and the 33's are like $125.

Yeah, that's why I was looking longingly at them...they looked like they should do double duty in mud/rocks, and are about $125 each for the 33's...a screaming deal I think.

I could mount them on the second set of rims I have gathering dust in the garage.

:D

Do it now! I ordered mine from www.desertrat.com, i would recommend them. Easy to deal with, best prices i've found, and very fast shipping.

it was great to meet you too! we will have to wheel together sometime, since you got split off of our group at ecxc.

Yeah, I'm unfamiliar with the trails in Oneida relative to the missus's Oh Shit Factor...

If I knew the trail conditions a bit, I might talk her into driving another 2 hours each way....and I'd STILL need to find a hotel for her...the camping AND wheeling for now might be too many changes at once.

:D

American Tire by me has Swampers...saves shipping, and they match the online prices anyway. (So - If I save some more $, and don't spend it on a set of low t-case gears....the tires are next)

:D

Based on what I've heard, the trails around Oneonta should be fine for anyone.

ECXC was Kim's first time camping and first time wheeling, and she survived the whole weekend. (and actually wants to buy an X now)

I used to live in Delhi a long time ago. Very nice country over there.

(I was confused -- for some reason, July's picture was showing up again and mine was gone -- cleared the cache and I'm back to August)
