I would either go Atomic Orange or flat olive drab to give it that military look and maybe put some general stars on the hood or something goofy like that.

You should do two tone like that little POS you posted. That would be kinda sweet. Going with a Gloss black upper half would look cool as hell on my rig.

I actually look at that color also (killer color), but I wanted to keep mine all nissan, so that's why I went 350Z blue. The other one I almost did was the House Of Color True Blue Pearl.

If I could paint mine I would probably go with flat black. I don't know why but I think flat black cars look awesome.

Everything got removed, I wanted it better than factory. When I say everything, I meen everything, doors, hood, the rack, every little bolt, every little rubber plug, wire harnesses, door glass and regulators, every peice of rubber, every piece or plastic, ect... I didn't want any over spray on anything (I hate that), lol, even the bottom of the X was taped off so there wouldn't be any overspray on it either. I didn't want any tapelines anywhere either, so everything was shot (inside and out) all at one time (this adds a huge amount of work and time, but well worth it). I fixed all the factory flaws that you see in all the 2nd gens also, like the spot weld dimples over the rear wheels on the quarters and such. I didn't paint the engine compartment though, because it's black from the factory on mine, and I wanted it to look like oem.

It's funny, I entered it in a car show last year and nobody could figure out why it was there, because it looks so factory, lol.

ha! nice. yeah.....i can understand the complete tear down. It's a lot of work (working on my mustang lately) but worth it. i just can't see having my DD down for that long. I might pull the interior and doors/hood to shoot everything.....guess i'll see when the time comes....

I have other rigs, so I didn't really care how long it took as long as I got what I wanted. (as close to perfect as you can get).

Now all the 2nd gen guys are all going to go out and look at their quarters and see the flaws in them, that they probably never noticed before, lol. (Sorry guys!).

Then of coarse some high dumb a$$ whacks right into it a month later, luckly didn't get into the paint, just the plastic.

There's no such thing as a good cheap paint job anymore, lol.

I have over $1500 just in materials on that thing.:aufkopfhauen-big: (used to be able to do them for $500)

There's a lime green X rolling around Denver with a calmini rear tire carrier and front bumper, I think it looks cool. I don't plan on painting my X but If I was to pick a color I would paint the whole thing flat black, like Rob's Dyrdeck's Tahoe on Rob and Big. His shit looks so sick! BTW I got to chill with Rob at the DC Lab in Utah couple years ago, super talented skater.

I've always loved flat black.

It's funny that flat black was really cool in the 80's and now it's back, lol.
