Hello,
I'm going up to Seattle to hopefully purchase an Xterra at an auction. The problem is that the ABS and 4X4 warning lights on the dash are on and they are selling the truck AS/IS through the auction. I realize it should go to Nissan for a proper diagnosis, but I don't have that luxury right now, I'm in Tucson and the truck's in Seattle. If you've experienced this issue or possibly know what could cause these warning lights (sensor?), please let me know ASAP. Thanks for your time.

i went play in the mud and my abs lights came on later on down the trail the light went off, im 4x2 so i dont know bout the 4x4, has it passed inpection? in my honda, the service engine light came on, had it checked and there were no problems. so i merely disconnected the battery and reconnected it, the light went off and didnt come back on til i blew the engine actin an a$$. dont know what caused it. you could attempt to contact a dealership in seattle and see if they will take a look at it.

It looks like either the trans didnt engage properly or there is a malfunction. Hope this helps.
