Hi All! I'm new here, and I am looking for some help changing my timing belt. Just got to 106K and starting to panic. We are planning to do it ourselves. I was actually wondering if anyone had a diagram showing location and what parts will have to be removed etc.

about me, I'm Married with 2 kids. My husband and I rebuild old cars as a hobby when we have time and money.

next project- timing belt and a crack in my exhaust manifold (suspected)

any advice would be great!!!

Thanks,

just did my timing belt about a week or so ago. Search the threads...there's some good help within the page. Also.....go buy a haynes manual. I think I would have been a bit lost without. It's not too bad a job.....just very time consuming.

Like I said....between here and haynes you should be okay.

Couple hints i figured out.

1)Buy a fishing scale. This is the easiest/cheapest way to properly tension your new belt.
2)Get everything you might be able to change and change it. once you get in there you'll want to change out everything....cuz you won't wanna pull it back apart anytime soon.
3)Clean EVERYTHING real good while you're in there. Yay brake parts cleaner!
4) if you're considering a stronger alternator at all or ever.....this is the perfect time to change it. I wish i would have.
