: Can 09X stock roof lights be installed on 05X
tegrabluefish 01-01-2009, 05:11 PM The the front end of the plastic enclosure on the the roof is a panel that looks as if it can be removed and switched out with a 09x panel with stock roof lights! Anyone know if that's an option?? check out link for a pic!!

vac23 01-01-2009, 05:51 PM Looks like it will fit. You just have to find a way to run the wiring for the lights.
I remember reading somewhere that the panel alone is > $300 though if money isn't an object I'm sure you can adapt it.
I have a project that I've been waiting on the weather to get done, when I do I'll be removing my 09's lights/cover and I'll take a bunch of pics to document how the stock lights are setup.
TN4x4Xterra 01-01-2009, 08:13 PM It can be done and if I'm not mistaken, I saw figures of around $600 for it.
Your better off doing aftermarket lights yourself....not that complicated to do though.
vandebogart 01-01-2009, 09:17 PM Yea making your own light-bar would be a lot cheaper than paying to swap them out.. tons of people have made em.
search away my friend :)
tegrabluefish 01-04-2009, 09:30 PM Sounds good!!
steinmethod 02-05-2009, 09:07 AM I have a 2005 xterra offroad, and looking into putting the 09 roof panel with stock lights on. If anyone has more information it would be appreciated. Or anothe pre made light bar.
Thanks
TN4x4Xterra 02-05-2009, 09:10 AM search the forums....
Ask if you have trouble though
Xterra prospector 02-20-2011, 05:27 PM Hey so I also dig the stock light bar, however they are quite elusive and seem pricey in comparison, however aftermarket/homebuilt ones look hideous. I am seriously considering buying a set of lights from canadian tire and fitting them into my pre-existing stock rack windsheild by cutting and bracketting. Any ideas?
Have you checked out these? I think they are pretty slick : http://www.xoskel.com/
Roschili 02-20-2011, 06:17 PM Necro-post for the win...but I guess if you're using the search, its ok.
In all honesty, I think it will be difficult to replicate the stock setup from the newer models and make it look good. Your best bet is to make a light bar to go across the top, or make a xoskel type cage to go in front of the windfairing.
gt601 02-20-2011, 07:21 PM The Xoskel setup is really well made and works well. I would suggest getting the glare shields as well. The glare off the hood is pretty intense when all four 100 watts are blazing. :)
Here's mine.

Ranchocopper 02-20-2011, 10:37 PM I wrote the company to see how much the lights would be included. Your vehicle looks great!
gt601 02-21-2011, 03:07 AM Thanks for the compliment. The lights are Explorer Pro Comp. 4x4 parts has them. http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lighting-and-Lighting-Accessories/Pro-Comp-Offroad-Racing-Lights.aspx?catID=14&subCat=448&ptID=4242&plID=1849&pg=2
John at Xoskel does top notch work. He is here on the forum under the name Fangers.
My wife found them cheaper than at 4x4 but I can't remember where. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Ranchocopper 02-21-2011, 08:03 AM Thank you Paul for the info. Lori
fangars 02-22-2011, 02:22 PM As stated above, Xoskel, which is basically me, does provide solutions for low profile lighting.

TimRich 02-22-2011, 02:41 PM Great product! I have the xoskel on my 1st gen X and love it. You will be happy with it.
morpheus 02-22-2011, 06:14 PM I've priced the 09 assembly. Add the fairing plastic and you're closer to $900.
I can buy some really nice HID's for that kind of money.
