Anyone know how big of a spare will fit under a 2002 X?

I do not have a hitch or a rear bumper guard, but will be adding them soon.

If I remember right...you can get a 31 under there easy, a 32 with some grunting, and a 33 if you let some air out, and are OK needing to air up to use it, etc.

The hitch does rob some room, dropping all the above - 31's still make it.

I went with the rear carrier for the 33's, getting a spare out from under there in mud or on a tippy rock pile is not my idea of fun. (Before the carrier, I had the tire either on the roof, or in the cargo compartment strapped down)

I was gonna put my 33" spare underneath, but decided to go with the Schrock rear bumper w/tire carrier also.

I am looking at getting a rear carrier for the spare, but I wanted to see what would fit.
I guess I can just put it in the back anyway, and just take it out when I haul something.
