let me know what you guys think or if someone is good with photoshop or some other program:wink-big:
TN4x4Xterra 12-06-2008, 03:19 PM If I'm not mistaken, Bumblebee has his done like that to his X too....
I know Creepy can help you out on that one....
chris-petrenko 12-06-2008, 03:20 PM yea he could but the guy that comp that does it is right in my hometown, just gotta think about it
tameroflions 12-06-2008, 04:22 PM i think it'd look pretty good man! if my X wasnt black...and if it was a 2nd gen...i would probably do that...but i dont think it'd work w/ mine.
although i think creepy could probably do it for you too.
alpine spirit 12-06-2008, 06:54 PM Go for it... make the way you want it, who cares what others think.
Creepy Cruiser 12-06-2008, 07:24 PM Yep, we've do ones similar to those in the past. I like the one piece ones also, but we like to take it to the next level and cut designs through them also (flames, tribal, logos, websites, etc...). We also like to make the designs so that it's cut up through the center and makes the decal into two pieces so it makes it way easier to install on your own and tie that into the design also. The huge ones are cool, but they are not easy at all to do by yourself unless you've done a ton of big stickers before. We like to make them easy for everybody and way cooler than anyone else at the same time, lol.
And we love to do them out of the way cool flat black
You can check out some examples here: (I'm not sure, it might have a hood or two on there, lol) http://www.minitruckstickers.com/examples.htm
Just let me now if you want something crazy, lol.:aufkopfhauen-big:
If I find some time I'll make up a sample of what I mean.
AZ-Ted 12-07-2008, 03:21 PM The link from thenewx is talking about a wrap. Bumblebee's truck is actually painted flat black. Here is a picture from yesterday's Nissan Action Sports freestyle MX event in Glendale, AZ. Photo courtesy Brutus from nissanoffroad.net:

EDIT: Bumblebee's truck was at this year's SEMA show. He was sponsored by Toyo Tires, KC Hi-Lites, and BajaRack.

What he said!
Xterra Mike 12-12-2008, 03:29 PM awesome.
bluex 12-12-2008, 05:01 PM I like I have been thinking of doing this for my '01 X
how much did it cost?
Creepy can you make a decal like this? If so can you PM a quote...Thanks
Or would it be better to get it painted flat black
DaveC 12-12-2008, 05:05 PM x2 Creepy...if you can do one for a 1st Gen Xterra in Matte Black...that would rock. I had a source locally for this...but it appears he fell off the face of the earth.
Let us know man! :)
timb. 12-12-2008, 05:12 PM x3....maybe a group rate. was going to paint-but a becal would be so much easier.
DaveC 12-12-2008, 05:20 PM Well, if Creepy isn't able to do this (and I hope he is because I'd really like to give him my business)...I'll keep after my local guy and if I can find him then I can see what it's going to cost for one. He and his wife just had a baby a few weeks ago, so that may have something to do with it. He just needed to come by my place at some point, make a template, cut the vinyl, and that was it. I'll keep you guys posted if it comes to that.
Swordfish 12-12-2008, 05:25 PM x4... I'm thinking with a cut-through in it.
chris-petrenko 12-12-2008, 05:48 PM if there is a first gen around, theres always the guy that I got mine from( not stepping on anyones toes) for 60 shipped, just need to make a template its really good stuff too let me know and if anyone has a first gen around and there is enough interest say over 5 ill talk to the guy to see what i can do
Creepy Cruiser 12-12-2008, 06:51 PM Sorry for the delay guys, the internet in this area has been dead for 2 days, lol, I didn't know what to do with myself, hahaha.
I'll see if I can find a 1st gen around here to make a template from.
It looks killer dude!
Chris did you install it yourself or did you have them do it for you?
$60 shipped is not a bad price. I'd be around $50-$60 shipped myself. The flat black is the best color ever, lol.
The cool thing about vinyl is it's not permanent.
chris-petrenko 12-12-2008, 07:10 PM they did the install for me, it looks better in person
alo creepy didn't wanna step on your pumas about the first gen thing

Awesome man, thanks and just keep us posted!
One question though; aren't 2000-2001 hoods different than 2002-2004 hoods? I think the bulge in the middle of the hood is only there on the 2002-2004, the 2000-2001 hoods don't have the same shape on top. Just something to consider. If you need a 1st gen, you may have to make a template of a 2000-2001, as well as a 2002-2004.
DaveC 12-12-2008, 07:28 PM Here's a 2000-2001 hood:

...and a 2002-2004 hood:

You can see the difference in those I guess.
bluex 12-12-2008, 07:42 PM good call Dave :)
I would like mine flat black and price of $50 or $60 shipped is great!!
well put me on the list for one please. I have an '01 X
Thanks dude.
I might be interested in this! I have been really really wanting to black out my hood.
breezy 01-12-2009, 08:21 PM just posted some of my hood vinyl pics on the newx thread
OUMOOSE 01-12-2009, 09:23 PM Yeah, if you did this with the "X" that you have, creepy, on your sticker page. Put it kind of of centered and angled up in a corner so the paint shows throw the X only. The rest would be black. Does this make sense to anyone...or is the scotch enabling my abilities?
Stickle 01-12-2009, 09:35 PM I'm in on one too. My hood was all scratched up from the last owner and i was going to go this route anyways with either flat black auto paint or flat black vinyl.
OUMOOSE 01-13-2009, 07:38 AM Now, I really need to fix my dented hood!
theonenonlykyler 01-14-2009, 09:11 AM i would really want one of these for my 2003.. no joke
chris-petrenko 01-14-2009, 11:15 AM IF there is that much interest, I would need to talk to the guy who did mine, and see what kind of deal I can get. Then I would need someone with the 1gen and 1.5 gen to come out for fittings. let me know and i'll see what i can do

SI is not far from me. i'd come out with my truck. its a gen 1.5
I would love to get one of these for my 2004 Xterra - any word on availability?
chris-petrenko 01-14-2009, 11:54 AM The guy that does it is in jersey about 45 min from si. Ill give him a call tomorrow and see what i can work out for you guys
Awesome!
Otherwise I may tape, sand and paint that part of the hood flat black anyway - I've always liked the way it looks.

even better, just give me a heads up on it all.
DaveC 01-14-2009, 03:08 PM I'd be all over that like ugly on an ape if someone can make one for a 2004 Xterra. I need a hood blackout for my lights, but don't want to paint.
Looking forward to hearing what you can come up with.
Thanks!
chris-petrenko 01-14-2009, 03:21 PM i'll be starting a new thread so I can get a number for the guy to see what kind of deal he can give us
Chris, hit him up for the Titan/Armada hood too and if he can do it, I'll crosspost to the other boards. Should be about the same, just a little bigger, not much though. There are some Titan members in that area who can stop by his shop if needed.
