Just wondering what you guys have on your X.

Which do you think is better?

I have a 2002, and the stock rims are 15x7.
Seems like all the other ones I see or hear of are 16's.

Just wondering......

Sorry if their is already another thread on this already, I really couldnt find one.

I have 17" ones on mine. I wish I had smaller wheels because the tires are more expensive for 17's. other than that not much difference.

Yeah see that is what I am trying to figure out.....

I am getting some new ones, and want to know the pros and cons.

Prob wont go as big as 17, thought, will stick with 15 or 16.

right now it is hard to find a 15x8 wheel period, much less one that looks cool.

I guess it's all in what you think look cool. Do you want spoked, chromed wheels or do you want some steelies? 15x8 are easy to find in steel and they are cheap *less than $50 each). Everyone here that has a new X (05-06) have 16 or 17" wheels as 15's don't fit.

What kind of wheels are you looking for?? How much you wanna spend.

Here are a few....

Allied Wheels (http://www.ok4wd.com/index.php/catalog/product/allied_51_black_daytona/)

4x4 Group Buy (http://www.4x4groupbuy.com/store/wheels-wheel-spacers-wheels-c-148_193.html?osCsid=adf77ef2554fcdf1b0758bd3c00da2 21)

If you are gonna wheel, 15's are probably the best to go with because you will get more of a cusion with the bigger tires.

If you aren't gonna wheel, it just comes down to preference. Tire prices will definitly be cheaper for a 15" wheel.

I am currently running two sets. DD wheels are 16x8 w/4.5" BS and my OR wheels are 16x8 w/4.25" BS.

Well I will spend the money if it is worth it, I dont really have a limit, that is not a problem.

I agree with the cheaper prices for 15" wheels, but the steel wheels I have seen dont appeal to me too much.

I do wheel, but it is not very often, (too busy, kids, job). That is why I would prefer 15's.

The last place I went here locally said that he didnt even stock 15's and they would have to special order them at more cost.( I will check the sites you put up, thanks.)

I am looking for a black wheel also, I dont want any shiny chrome wheels.

I did find a wheel I liked in the 15x8, but the offset was -12. and that computes to the wheel sticking out an extra 2.5" from stock. any ideas there? would that be too much?

P.S. I am in the process of getting a 2.5" rancho lift installed.

I don't have a first gen so I don't know what the stock wheel specs are.

I know people who have these, so they should fit.

the most you would want to go on BS is 4". Anything more than causes too much stress on the axles. Stock BS is 5.5".

Ok, I found some 16x 8 rims that are pretty cool.

My stock numbers: 15x7 40 mm offset.

the wheels I amlooking at: 16x8 0 offset.

I calculated it and that is an extra 1" from wheel to strut housing
and an extra 2" from outside of wheel.

I found a chart that says for a 8" wheel the 0 offest is equal to 4.5" BS
Does that sound right?

yep, sounds right. You'll be happy with the 4.5" BS. What wheels are you getting??

285/75/r16
I currently have 30x9.5 r15 BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A and I love them.

I will get those tires in the 285/75/R16

the only thing that I don't like about that size tire is that they are to skinny. They are a 33x10.50 tire.

I couldnt find a wider one than that.

Is there a wider one that fits the 16" rim but doesnt get too much bigger?

I actually have them at 32.8 x 11.2

Hey Akordboy, what size rims and tires do you have on yours? they look pretty good.

the super swamper Trxus M/T come in 33x12.20. After my TSL's need replaced, that is what I am going with.

I am running two sets of wheels/tires. My DD wheels are Allied wheels with 32" BFG AT KO's. My offroad wheels are Rock Crawlers with 33" TSL Radial's.
