hello i have a 2000 xterra and i have added the performance accesories 3inch body lift....the brackets that they include for the front bumper are only for a 2inch body lift and they look very weak...they are not very thick...i do not want to winch off of them...i would also loose 4 mounting points by using the brackets....the front 2 and the lower ones that are below the body mounts......has anyone made their own brackets that would atleast keep the front bolts....i know i have to cut off the lower brackets no matter what....thanks in advance

im sure it can be done, w/ enough money and a big enough hammer.

I'm sure you can find a bracket that will address your needs...
As for making your own bracket..sometimes the question is not "if it can be done" but "should it be done"...
I would urge all members to consider purchasing a bracket way before fab'n one up...unless they have the skills to do so...in which case they would never ask us for our opinions anyways ;)
Hopefully someone on this forum can help you with your predicament.

I think that bracket is for the stock bumper. you need to do something really strong to accomodate for the weight of the shrock bumper. or sell yours and buy one with a 2 in BL option and live with a 1 inch gap.

Welding it on with some square tube on the frame horns is the only way to raise it up "safely". If you're running a winch, it's typically a no-no to raise up a bumper though...so if you plan to get a winch; it's something to think about. Those brackets for body lifts are just strong enough to hold the light stock bumper....do not use those on any aftermarket bumper like an ARB or Shrock. It will end badly and with you very unhappy.

Agreed with all.
I have the AC bumper relocation kit.
Definitely is not strong enough for ARB/Shrock bumpers.

If ya gotta go aftermarket, ask Jim to manufacture a bumper for a 3" Bl. Should not be a problem. If you wanna stay with stock, Get 4" long bolts and 3" long spacers. It works. I have done it for friends.

i am a certified welder, stick tig and mig...i can weld up some brackets i just wanted to see if there was anyone that sold them....i am thinking of using 3/8 plate and make a bracket that uses all of the bolts as mounting points...including the front ones..
