the sway bar, when flexed, will dent your pass. side shock pretty bad. ditch it, doesnt affect the ride, and it will save the shock.

You wont roll over unless you overdo yourself but I've not seen any X flip over except one but that X was SAS'd and swerved to miss a car and ended up flipping over but thats a different story. You will be fine. Just do NOT take the front swaybar off.

ok noob question, whats a PML?

TN4x4Xterra
11-14-2008, 12:40 PM
Poor Man's Lift.

Involves replacing the stock shackles with longer ones like the ones from AC and cranking up the tbars.

Gives you about 1.5 inches of lift.

Poor Man's Lift.

It's adding 1.5" lift shackles to the rear, and cranking up the t-bars about 1.5" to match in the front.

Cost is about $65 or so...hence, lifting it on a poor man's budget ;)

Its cuz your X is so heavy with all the stuff on it....thats why you dont notice much difference on it! ;) hahaha just kidding.

I've heard many members say they didnt like it and put it back on when they took their front sways off.

silverbullet
11-14-2008, 01:54 PM
I can still drive it pretty quick no problem. i gett a little more body roll but I could probably cut own on that by taking the 50 lb spare off the roof. lol and getting new leaf packs because mine are so damn sagged. they're coming this summer though. My X is gping through a big transformation.

Broden21
11-14-2008, 02:22 PM
i think im going to stick with just the rear off for now. anyone know why when i hit the breaks hard my front sway bar makes a poping sound????

DaveC

How do you know it's your swaybar making the noise? I would tend to agree with James. Check your ball joints in the UCAs.

My bet is one or both of them are torn open.

Broden21
11-14-2008, 03:04 PM
well when i got the car from a dealer they said it needed new wheel bearings it was like 500 bucks so i just did it and when i got it back it was making this popping sound so it took her back it the next day and they said it was my sway bar and that they dont know y its making that sound they also said it wasn't effecting anything performance wise so i was ok. Im just wondering if any of you guys have heard it on your X's i have a sound clip of it but i wont be able to upload that till sometime Saturday.

DaveC
11-14-2008, 03:10 PM
Well, if it is the swaybar, the new bushings and links are fairly cheap. If you have a Pep Boys in town up there in PA, they have them in stock. Don't know who else would carry them where you can get them quick though.

Broden21
11-14-2008, 03:17 PM
yeah ill try that i got some connections with some guys a Advanced auto parts ill see they have any.

DaveC
11-14-2008, 05:27 PM
Yeah, Advance Auto should carry them as well, or at least be able to order them and get them in next day for you.

I think they're made by a company called "Poly Performance".

Energy Suspension Might be an option too

Looks good.

Better make sure its strapped down really good and tight!

Doesn't hurt to invest in a bike cable lock to prevent theft. I've been hearing tire theft has gone up around here lately....gonna do that to mine by wrapping it around the frame.

Broden21
11-15-2008, 03:57 PM
yeah i was thinking about getting one soon. maybe after i actually get some good rims and tires ill get one.
