Some may have seen my " Lazy man's " how to write up. To make a long story short, the guy at best Buy said I could cut the green wire under the cup holder, cap one end and ground the other. That would bypass the parking break trick to get ALL functions while driving.
Here are my questions.... Which end is caped? which end is grounded? and will this make my parking break light stay on all the time?
Here are the pics....

What do you mean, "capped"? I have 2 DVD players. What you have to do it you have to ground the wire. There is one thing that you have to know though. You need to know if it needs a switch or not.
In order to "beat" the whole parking brake thing, what you have to do is you need to just ground that wire. So, start your truck, put your foot on the brake, put it in Drive, Keep your foot on the brake, and release the parking brake, so it is like you are sitting at a stop light, but in your driveway. Take that wire, strip the end so that there is exposed wire. Take that wire to bare metal (ground it) just with your hand though, and then put your DVD player on video mode. It SHOULD come on.
If it does not come on, then your head unit needs to see a series. If this is the case, you need to buy a 2 prong switch. Cut the wire, and install it between the head unit and ground. When you put it in video mode, you need to switch it from on to off and then to on again, and the video should show.

It did work grounding the wire. But the break light stays on when it's grounded. So I'm going to get a relay switch, mount it next to the vdc switch so the break light will only be on when I need to access the dvd, or other features while driving. Is there a certain switch I need?

What the hell? Don't even mess with Brake light wiring. Just ground it to some metal. Leave your stock e-brake wiring alone.

Yeah, what I am saying is do not touch the stock wiring whatsoever. Just leave it as is. If the brake light is on, that is another problem. Possible not released all the way. Just ground out the wire from the head unit.

just ground the green wire, the avic will think the parking break is on. however there is a bypass you need to do as well. the guy at best buy doesnt know about.
for example, on the d3, the older pioneer nav unit you had to ground the parking break wire and also move the mute wire on the harness up one pin, and ground that as well.
looks like you will be taking the nav unit back out, and its not a lazy mans install.
check out www.avic411.com for more details on how to bypass the parking brake feaute on there for your model

even if you do it the BB techs way it will give you an error message that "you are moving" and it will lock you out. i even looked up the avic f series bypass you need to do for you. undo whatever you did to make your brake light stay on
my guess is you grounded the brake wire instead making the dash light illuminate.
