Agreed here too. Here in my town, its about 2.05 around there. Seen some purdy lookin' jerry cans on Ebay for less than 70 bucks so that'd be a good xmas present!

I'd get a plastic container for like boats and fill that up. It'll hold like 55 gallons

I've seen some people getting rid of pool chemical containers....those blue plastic containers....now that would be badass to fill gas up in those and store it away in the basement.

When I started driving, at the tail-end of the oil embargo in the 1970's (yeah, aging myself, I know), gas was around $0.70 a gallon. Up from being consistently like $0.38/ gallon for years prior.

Looking back, I understand now why Mom and Dad thought 70 cents a gallon was pretty pricey in the late 1970's, when our family car was a 4-door Ford LTD with a 429 cubic inch (7.0 liter, for you metric guys) V-8 and four-barrel carb. As I remember, it got mileage comparable to an H2 (about 9 mpg city, maybe 12 on the highway).

The only gas station I pass on the way to and from work just lowered its price to $2.05. Considering they usually run about 8 cents higher than the low price stations a few miles away on the main highway, I would assume that it's dipped below $2 around here now.

Oh, and cleaning out receipts from my wallet the other day, I found a receipt dated Oct. 8 when I paid $3.699 per gallon for regular unleaded.

I was in Hawaii this summer for 2 weeks (July 16th to 29th) and it was $4.50 on average throughout the islands, I saw as high as $4.79 and as low as $4.39. i told one of the guys we did asucba trip with it had just hit $4.00 a gallon back here in PA and he was shocked.

Islands typically have short supplies and its harder to get supplies across to them so thats why they charge high for gas, food, things like that cuz its not accessible like other states in the US since HI is accessible by boat majority of the time.

I know. I'm just stating how bad it was. I'd pay it to live there. Its the shit. Funny thing is I saw more lifted vehicles with huge tires there than anywhere else in my life. It's just expensive to live down there. cereal is 6 to 7 dollars a box

I can believe you about the lifted vehicles part, I've heard about them being the majority down there due to the "off-beaten" paths they have around HI islands.

Dammmmnnnn.....that high for a cereal box? Last time I heard milk was 10 bucks a gallon on the worldnews one night.

I dont think it was that much for milk. Maybe $7, but its like $4.50 here in PA. The same guy I was talking to about the gas prices I asked about all the trucks. He said everyone uses them to get to thier favorite surf spots. which I believe because there are tire tracks leading off to somewhere all along most of the coastal roads

The awesome thing about hawaii was while we were there prices started to fall. it was like $4.15 when we left on average. We came back and it was down to like $3.79 on average. And it's still going down.

Highest I paid around home was $3.999. If we hadn't gone out to the Seattle area for my daughter's wedding near the height of the gas prices, I wouldn't have ever paid more than $4, but they were running around $4.25 out there. The rental car company was charging a lot more, so I filled it up before we turned it in.

Oil is down to $56/barrel this morning ahead of crude oil trading..so it's good news for now. Gas down the street from me at both Costco and BJs is $1.79/gallon.

The lowest in nearly 2 years.
