PRG is the way to go. you will not be dissappointed. i have the full off-road kit on mine, but plenty of folks run just the spacers and the leaf packs. i have no complaints about it, and pops is right, they can't be beat

I was told by the guy (Greg i think) that this setup ads approx 2" of lift and this is the minimim lift available. He was pushing the $1600 kit to ensure 3" of lift.......

Not sure what i want to do either. One option being $300 for 2" and the next being over 5 times the price for one more inch.........

Let me know what you end up doing..............

Thanks

Let's see...I have a 2.5" spacer upfront (No upper control arm upgrade) and the PRG Deaver in the back and I'm probably sitting around 2.8" (Started at 3" and then settled) in the rear now. I do have a slight forward rake. Definitely go with PRG. Greg's a great guy and always there to help ya out! Solid product!

Good thing about PRG mini lift is it uses the same components used to build the $1600 3" lift kit, so you can buy the mini lift for $300 and later if you feel you need more, just buy the remaining bits and pieces (for less than $1600 according to Greg) and finish the job.

That way you don't loose any $$$$$ and get to see for yourself what you want.

I base this statement after having the exact same conversation with Greg at PRG. He seems like a very cool guy and just wants his customers to be happy. I have my 2"minilift in the garage and will be installing in a week and a half. Will post pix.

Well It looks like i'm going to go with the 3" lift but do i have to get the uca's?? I know Keyz said that he doesnt have them, I just want to make sure

I don't have the UCA's because I stayed under 3" in the front. If you were go that direction, you will need the UCA's.

Please note that my rig's config is 2.5" upfront and 2.8" at back. This is with the PRG Deaver Pack = over time, your rear is going to sag a little under 3".

so what spacers do you have, i'm guessing you have the 2" deaver but what do you have up front the 2"?

It's your decision Chris, but if I were you, I'd just get the 3" with the UCA's. If you just get the 2", you'll be happy for awhile then want the 3" later. Personally, I'd prefer just to do it right the first time.

but are the uca's that important at the time if I don't do that much trail riding?

I have the 2.5" spacer from readylift (http://www.readylift.com/c-109-frontier-xterra-sst-lift-kit-2005-2008-2wd-4wd.aspx)

However, you can get the PRG spacer as well.

Sorry for the epic threadbump, but you can also get 2" TG spacers for ~$92 and 2" AC Shackles for $65 (they only advertise 1.5" but I talked to Mike from AC aka 4x4parts.com and they can fab them and possibly 2.5" shackles as well)... so that setup will run you ~$170 or so shipped versus $330 w/o shipping from RL... not trying to bash RL at all, but a good deal is a good deal ;)

Here's another good deal. FREE Shipping. This is where I bought mine from:

I'd call them to ask about the Xterra.

I disagree about the UCA's. I have the 2" lift in the front (spacer) and I get banging from the UCA hitting the coil bucket. Especially when going over speed bumps.

I'll either build my own or get the aftermarket UCA's. But if you don't want banging at all, then get the UCA's.

And it doesn't have anything to do with trail riding. My Frontier isn't my trail rig, it's my DD.

True, you will get some banging from the UCA's...however, the kits do come with bump stops for each arm that alleviates all noise from the UCA.

Did you also install the Bump Stops?? Some Titans were getting that when they kept the OEM bump stops on. With the PRG Bump Stops on my Armada, I get light tapping when I let a wheel drop off the edge of a decent sized straight drop-off but it has to be pretty extreme.

I have a set of Titan bump stops, but they're weld on. I'm hesitant to weld them on to my coil buckets if I'm going to get different UCA's anyway.

I have a friend that put some of the TC UCA's on, and he's giving me his old stockers. I'll probably be making some based off of those, clearing the coil bucket and negating the need for the bump stops for that issue. I just have to get bored enough to do it. :D

Those Titan bump stops are nothing more than a rubber covered bolt, not near the amount of padding you should have in there. Even after you replace the UCA's, I would think you should probably also keep those LCA's protected.

Yes and no.

The stop I've got came out of the CST 2wd lift kit. They are a thick stop (similar to what you're talking about, about 1.5" thick though) and have a weld on bracket to mount them directly under the upper control arm. I'm supposed to mark where the arm stops at droop, measure up 1/2" or so and weld the bracket on there.

I just think it'll stop the suspension from cycling properly and don't want to heat/weld on that section of the bucket for now.

If I get bored all together, I'll wip out the TIG and make up some LCA's as well. I just don't feel the need for a DD.

I'd rather make a FriTan and have fun with a V8 instead. But the wife won't hear of it.

I had the PRG 2" spacers on my 06 for a while..but you will hear the banging when you hit some bumps. I had the Spacer in front and Deaver add a leaf in the rear. it does work out good. But i replaced the spacers in front with the radflo coilovers and PRG UCA's. And, i added the PRG adj shackles to the rear on top of the Deaver mini pack.
