DaveC 11-07-2008, 06:01 PM That's one good looking whiteX!
Drake 11-07-2008, 09:58 PM Nice X and ROLL TIDE!!!!!
tameroflions 11-07-2008, 11:25 PM man, sweet X! just wait till xmas break during that road trip, youre totally gonna have another addition!
looks good!
you should try to mount the cb antenna higher, you'd get much better reception.
also, is that speaker pointed up? if so, be careful w/ that, you might wanna turn it 180 degrees cause water can get in it and it can start to rust it and stuff.
good installs though! love the X.
tameroflions 11-07-2008, 11:26 PM wait, thats a dual antenna?! sick!
vandebogart 11-07-2008, 11:42 PM Nice X!
white X's FTW! :D
Slugger 11-08-2008, 03:08 PM wait, thats a dual antenna?! sick!
Hell yea its dual! Sure its overkill but I like it. Yea I'm gonna have to get some longer antennas. b/c those mounts are there to stay lol. Maybe later on go dual whips? lol
TimRich 11-10-2008, 04:35 PM Looks good!!!
Slugger 12-03-2008, 07:16 PM Finally got my shackles installed..not I gotta raise the front and take some pics.

Slugger 12-03-2008, 09:14 PM Is that a PA? What kind is it? You like it? I have always wanted one.
Yea man its a PA. I got it off ebay for 16 dollars(including shipping)
Roryo513 12-03-2008, 09:18 PM Sweet, I think ill ask Santa to bring me one for Christmas.
Slugger 12-03-2008, 11:16 PM Hell yea dude! You already have a CB? Because you're gonna need a CB to hook up the PA.
Lol my friend has that exact same dvd player and cb in his 01 X! I was like wait a minute did you take a picture of his but then I saw the golf balls and was like oh my buddy doesn't play golf.
Slugger 12-17-2008, 07:12 PM Just got put on the brush guard. Thanks Daniel. Here are some pics.

tameroflions 12-24-2008, 08:46 PM love the grill guard bro. looks good!
looks like you had fun mudding. no pics of getting stuck tho?
Slugger 12-24-2008, 08:51 PM I wanted to get a pic of it stuck, but I didn't want to piss the guys off that were helping us get it out, but take a look at the pic of Drake's truck as it was almost flopped. That's how it looked when we were trying to jack it up to get some boards underneath it. As for the step rails, yea I'm gonna take them off soon. I was gonna take them off this morning, but my friend was ready to go so we just took off the front mud flaps. I still gotta take off my rear sway bar aswell.
Slugger 01-06-2009, 04:56 PM Ok I took off the step rails today and did the stock intake mod. I also raised the front up a few days ago so here are some pics.

Slugger 01-06-2009, 05:13 PM Hell yeah! sweet dent on those plastic pieces!! I am diggin that CB.
Thanks. Yea the dent was there when I bought it. I have to rerun the cables for the antennas as they are right near my subs and when I have my X off you can talk on the cb and hear it through the subs. BTW thanks for the write up for the stock intake mod, I would of never attempted to do it if I didn't have something to follow.
tameroflions 01-06-2009, 05:44 PM nice bro.
vandebogart 01-06-2009, 08:58 PM Looks good!
OUMOOSE 01-06-2009, 09:21 PM Looking good bro. I am always amazed to see the difference it makes taking off the steps. Its like adding a couple inches of lift...
soccerbrace 01-06-2009, 09:27 PM Hey Rob, I would move your PA speaker if I were you.....
Slugger 01-06-2009, 09:49 PM Hey Rob, I would move your PA speaker if I were you.....
Where would you suggest moving it too? I know I should atleast turn it 90 degrees so it doesn't feel up with rain, but other than that I don't know where else to mount it.
soccerbrace 01-06-2009, 10:01 PM Where would you suggest moving it too? I know I should atleast turn it 90 degrees so it doesn't feel up with rain, but other than that I don't know where else to mount it.
Put it on the roof rack pointing backwards.
Slugger 01-06-2009, 10:09 PM Yea I could put it up there. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger of 4 Hella 500s this weekend and with that I have another mod that I plan to do along with the lights where the air dam is. I could hook up the PA up there while I'm at it.
Also, I'm looking at some Cragar Soft 8s. Which ones should I go with?
Cragar 3975860P Wheel, Soft 8, Steel, Black, 15 in. x 8 in., 6 x 5.5 in. Bolt Circle, 4.75 in. Backspace
or
15" x 8", 6 x 4.5" bolt pattern with a 4.75" backspace
soccerbrace 01-06-2009, 10:10 PM Good idea, the mud and rain will kll it quickly where it is now.
Drake 01-07-2009, 07:46 AM Cragar 3975860P Wheel, Soft 8, Steel, Black, 15 in. x 8 in., 6 x 5.5 in. Bolt Circle, 4.75 in. Backspace
These are the ones you want. The bolt pattern is incorrect for the other one you listed.
Slugger 01-09-2009, 05:45 PM I just added something else to my lights. Ill take a video of it later on tonight and post it up! Until then, yall can guess at what I did.
Slugger 01-09-2009, 08:15 PM So this is what I did. I added some White LED strobe lights to my lights. Here are some videos of them in action. I also purchased two sets of Hella 500s today. They should arrive by next friday.

Slugger 01-09-2009, 08:48 PM Nice....did you darken the turn signals or is that the max output they give out?
Thats the max.
vandebogart 01-09-2009, 09:36 PM Sweet!
tameroflions 01-09-2009, 09:53 PM man that looks pretty cool.

Slugger 01-09-2009, 10:07 PM man that looks pretty cool.
totally illegal too, if im not mistaken :)
O yea no doubt.
Slugger 01-18-2009, 09:33 PM Just finished installing my 4 Hella 500s, and here some pics of the lights and the light pattern. I also put my airdam back on because it puts a lot of light into my cabin. I'm gonna have to do something else also because there is a 2 to 3 inch gap between the light bar and the airdam and light still comes in. Tomorrow morning I am going to take off my rear sway bar. I've been putting PB Blaster on the bolts so hopefully I can get the bolts loose, because I've been having problems trying to get one of the bolts loose.
My next mod will be a 2" BL followed by new rims and tires.

DaveC 01-18-2009, 10:07 PM Looks real good man. Hellas are awesome!
tameroflions 01-18-2009, 10:23 PM way to go man, glad you got all the wires fixed...what was the problem when you were asking me? was it the ground?
Slugger 01-18-2009, 10:26 PM way to go man, glad you got all the wires fixed...what was the problem when you were asking me? was it the ground?
One of the problems was the ground and there was something else wrong with it, everything was wired correctly and grounded, but the two inner lights just wouldn't come on. I blew like 5 or 6 fuses during the process.
I have one more problem with it, the light bar is not sturdy enough and when I drive my lights bounce up and down. I guess I'm gonna have to go with a new piece of angle iron for the light bar. Any suggestions?
tameroflions 01-18-2009, 10:45 PM angle iron and a hack saw.
have fun!
i used angle aluminum on mine and it was pretty much the same problem, but probably not as bad as your having now.
so either one should work for you. honestly, you might be able to get away w/ angle aluminum cause your hellas are lighter than my kc style lights.

Yea. I gotta head back up to Home Depot, the angle iron I got is real flimsy. Hack saw to cut off the excess and a bench grinder to cut the grooves and the holes.
I also have to clean up all the wiring on it. It is really messy right now, but that won't be too hard.
vandebogart 01-18-2009, 11:21 PM Looks good dude!
Roryo513 01-18-2009, 11:26 PM Looks sick!
Nice job, cant wait for the lift and tires!
CristofoliniX 02-20-2009, 11:23 PM Sorry to revive an (kinda) old thread; but in order to get the best performance out of your PA, you should mount it so it is pointing at an angle (I would suggest 45 degrees) to the ground. That way the sound waves bounce off of the road making it louder. One of my buddies (fellow fireman) told me about this when we were talking about sirens.
Slugger 05-05-2009, 04:44 PM Not really a new mod, but an update to my CB

Slugger 05-20-2009, 01:00 PM might wanna put a tennis ball or something on that whip so it doesn't smack into the side of the truck
Yup. I put one on the whip a few days after I got it. I already have a few dents in my truck where it hit a few good times.
TimRich 05-20-2009, 01:01 PM oh dear God dude i thought the roof of that house in the pic was a giant aluminium spoiler on your x and i almost threw up lol the huge CB antenna looks great tho

cajun x 07-31-2009, 06:23 PM very nice , but 1 question is that mud brutes?
Slugger 07-31-2009, 06:30 PM Yea they are
cajun x 07-31-2009, 07:00 PM also is that 4.75 BS?
Slugger 08-01-2009, 09:35 PM 4 bs
cajun x 08-01-2009, 09:45 PM 4 bs
ohh, very nice work and as a previous owner of mud brutes they pull very good in the mud and as long as you keep them rotated they will not be to loud
Slugger 08-01-2009, 09:56 PM Ahh ok cool. Yea I was going to go with the Firestone M/Ts and after an hour of waiting on them to be delievered the guy said that they were out so I got these for 200 bucks cheaper than what the Firestone M/Ts would have cost.
BTW I have updated my first post.
dylan0123 08-02-2009, 01:38 AM Went mud riddin' today. here are a few after pics.
lol I grew up in Mississipp til i was like 11 yrs old, and down there we called it "mud riddin'" then I moved up to illinois, and one day in high school I asked my friends if they wanted to go mud riddin' and they all started laughing, cause they just say "muddin'" up here.
I just thought that was kinda funny. reading that just brought back some memories.
Rugger02 08-18-2009, 11:01 PM Interesting, I grew up in Ohio and we called it 'off roading.' I lived in Texas for 7yrs and we called it 'muddin.' But Texas is so big it depends on where ya live. I know it's not called that in El Paso. I've been in Savannah for almost a year now and I'm still tryin' to figure out what to call it.
Thanx for the link Rob. Your picS are fantastic. White isn't a popular color for those who go 'muddin', 'off-roading', mud riddin', '4x4ing', 'trail riding' or what the fuck... But you driving a white X does shout out an unmistakable message. " I AM SLUGGER THE INCREDIBLE! WHITE IS MY CHOSEN COLOR OF TRANSPARENCY, SO THAT ALL CAN SEE WHERE I'VE BEEN. I BODLY TAKE MY X WHERE NO AVERAGE DRIVER DARE. THE MUD, SCRAPES, DINGS, DAMAGE, AND VARIOUS LIMBS, BRANCHES AND DEBRIS HANGING AND DRAGING FROM MY TRUCK AS I PULL INTO WORK MONDAY MORNING I PROUDLY DISPLAY AS A BADGE OF HONOR WORN ONLY BE THE FEW!!!
Slugger 08-18-2009, 11:09 PM Lol thanks man. Yea I have to buy some new shocks for the front and after that I am done until I get the X and the tires paid off, but that will be in about 7 months so its all good. My front bumper bracket was finally shipped off from 4x4parts and should arrive tomorrow and I will put my front bumper back on all the way.
I also found a semi local Nissan club called Third Coast Nissans and believe it or not one of them left a card on my door handle at school yesterday. So I might be taking her out a little bit more now since they know a few spots around here.
Rugger02 08-21-2009, 01:06 AM Very cool. ...SLUGGER THE INCREDIBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE !!! lol
peewee 08-21-2009, 01:25 AM Damn, the wheels/tires/bl are a drastic change to the look of your x. Good job, I like it a lot.
We call it 4wheeling here, just for the record.
Slugger 08-21-2009, 09:24 AM Thanks guys! Finally got the front bumper relocation brackets, so hopefully I will have my front bumper back on my tonight.
drbandkgb 08-21-2009, 10:05 AM Man that really looks good... I cant wait till my white X is raised like that...
Why did you change your cb antenna?
Slugger 08-21-2009, 10:10 AM Even though I liked my dual antennas, I didn't get good reception from them because they were below my roof rack. So I went ahead and switched to the 102" whip. Plus I like the whip better lol.
drbandkgb 08-21-2009, 10:13 AM I love the stick look to them.. seems like the metal one you dont see them as well and if I put the work in I want peeps to see them lol... Im vain I guess...
What size were they?
Slugger 08-21-2009, 03:05 PM They were 3' antennas. As you said that you won't be able to see the whip as good, not true, that is what I use to find my truck in parking lots lol. I think it is easier to see that than the 3' antennas that I previously had.
X_Man 08-21-2009, 03:20 PM Very nice.
Slugger 08-21-2009, 04:12 PM Very nice.
Thanks!
zuiden 09-18-2009, 02:55 PM Your X is awesome. I will be using yours as guide to what I need to do to mine.
Slugger 09-19-2009, 08:13 PM Your X is awesome. I will be using yours as guide to what I need to do to mine.

Yea, I made it through fine at first, but had reverse all the way back to hook up to him to get unstuck, i pulled him about 40 feet and then I started to bury.
dylan0123 11-03-2009, 11:22 PM sounds like you had some fun! how do those tires do in the sand? did you have them aired down?
Slugger 11-03-2009, 11:43 PM Yea it was a lot of fun. Tires do really good, like I was saying I didn't get stuck because of the tires, I didn't have enough HP to pull the other guy and get good traction. Also I didn't air down the tires either.
Slugger 12-24-2009, 01:09 PM Here are some new pics of the X.

peewee 12-24-2009, 04:45 PM Hey man, the xterra is looking good, even with that bama flag lol How did you like that whip you had on there? I think I am picking one up later this week from radioshack and was just wondering how much it flopped around. Also what size spring did you have on there with it? Sorry for all the questions lol

O man, I loved the whip on there the only problem I had with it was I wish I would of put it on the passengers side instead of the drivers side, because going through drive-throughs sucked. I went through a drive-through about 2 weeks ago and the whip caught up on something and bent it up, so I took it off until I can straighten it back up. As for the spring, this is the spring I got Chrome-Plated Spring (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062089)
If you plan on getting one definitely get a tennis ball to put on the antenna because it will flop into the side of the X, I have plenty of dent marks and scuffs from the whip.
and ROLL TIDE!! lol

peewee 12-24-2009, 05:29 PM Alright, good deal. I don't have to worry about it banging against much cause I will most likely be mounting it in my bed somewhere, but I will add the tennis ball if necessary. I am just hoping I don't look like too much of a redneck with this bigass whip on the back of my truck lol I am assuming the reception was pretty good with such a long antenna? My mag mount and 2 ft fiberglass antenna has horrible reception.
Slugger 12-24-2009, 07:54 PM Yea the reception is much better than my 4' fiberglass antenna, but I think I will get better reception now with it because it is just as tall if not taller than my roof rack, plus I need to get the cb tuned as well which will help out. Here, a lot of people have a whip on their trucks. Not many people have whips on SUVs, just fiberglass antennas.
