: Stormtrooper (my '04 Xterra)
Scorponok 10-27-2008, 05:50 PM Finally got some pics of my ride. It's almost completely stock except for the air box mod and I removed the rear sway bar. I wanted to clean it before I posted, but oh well.

Here's a close of of the decal I made for the back. I took a design I liked and cleaned it up, and went up to a local vinyl shop I used to work for and had it printed.

TN4x4Xterra 10-27-2008, 05:54 PM Nice X! Definitely diggin' the sticker!
Creepy Cruiser 10-27-2008, 06:06 PM Cool sticker!
Scorponok 10-27-2008, 06:08 PM lol, thanks guys. I actually thought of it as a joke I had posted on here where I said my truck was stormtrooper white, and someone asked if that was really the name of the color. I can't take credit for the design though, but I did take it from random pic on the web to finished product. =)
bluex 10-27-2008, 06:25 PM great looking X and sticker...I guess you won't see another one like that around.
and yes Xterras always look better dirty and muddy that is why my X looks like it does

You know where to find 35s for free! Those, and a Calmini low range t-case, an ARB rear locker, some lights, and a pretty cool Thule Moab basket :mocking:
I'll distract him if you want to head over there while you're down here for the mod day...or maybe we can invite him over, get him real drunk, and then strip those parts of that Xterra :mocking:

Scorponok 10-27-2008, 07:39 PM I've got some mods planned and I'm gonna break them up into two categories, mods I plan to do in the next few months, and mods that I plan to do later on.
My next few months mod list includes:
PLM
IA Brace
Paint the roof rack, nerf bars, and trim (May pick up paint tomorrow)
Build a KUMA like storage/sleeper (should be done any day now actually)
Build mounts for my Gerber Mark II, my Mossburg .410 (my snake gun), and my 4D Maglight
Window tint
My later down the line mods include:
Bilstein Steering
Bilstein Shocks
Light bar/fog lights/reverse lights
ICE system
Better tires/rims
Front/Rear ARB Bumpers/Sliders
Rear Locker (Thanks Drake for explaining that one)
A Custom Snorkle
And too many more to list

Scorponok 09-03-2009, 06:34 PM I know it's been awhile since I last updated this, but money has been tight and I haven't had the chance to do much work on my X. But I've been busy the past few days. =)
New wind guards

New Maglight holder
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d146/Megatron1977/Picture006.jpg
New "stealthed" GPS. I say stealthed because I ran the plug for it through the center console and used the 12v outlet in the armrest.

And finally my new lobo rack (My girl made me put Jack Skellington on there)

Hope you like. Next up will probably be the DIY snorkel, then the PML.
Steeze 09-03-2009, 07:55 PM Looking Good!

Thanks to Steeze for his write up and to both Steeze and json3904 for their help answering my questions.
I don't think this mod is done though, I'm still looking to improve on a few things, but for now it works amazing.
mudflaps, steprails, and snorkels usually dont appear on the same truck....
:)

lol, I know, but due to budget, time, and ability I'm taking things slowly. I plan to do a PML shortly and a light bar since those are comparatively low cost and partly DIY. Also, I'm trying to include my step-dad in as much of the process since not only is he a great mechanic but it also helps get his and my mind on something other than my mom's recent cancer reappearance.
I doubt I'll ever take this truck fully out through the brush, but I do want to be able to tackle a few light trails and allow my girl and I to see some beautiful places and camp out.
I also plan on doing the mod to add magnetic screens to the rear windows and adding an enclosure like Kuma's that will do double duty as a bed and wheelchair cover. I usually carry the wheelchair with me just in case, and it takes up all my trunk space, so the cover will give me extra room to carry things.
Utah_downshift 09-10-2009, 12:37 PM Can someone clairify PML for me?
Can someone clairify PML for me?
the search tool can do that for you about 10000 times
Utah_downshift 09-10-2009, 01:01 PM ya. Thanks for that super-usefull piece of information. in the time it took you to formulate your smart@$$ response, you could have just typed the 3 words too.
fwiw:
"Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search : PML
"
PML doesnt return any search results. ya I searched. If I knew what it stood for, I would search again and get better info.

It's called a Poor Man's Lift. If I'm not mistaken you use shackles to lift the rear suspension and then adjust your front torsion bars to match. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Utah_downshift 09-10-2009, 01:05 PM Thank you Scorp! So perhaps a poor mans lift or shackle-reversal lift search will work for me!

no problem brah
poor mans lift
oh, and fwiw, you would have gotten the same smartass response from pretty much everyone else on here, it gets asked an insufferable number of times every day
now lets stop clogging up Scorponok's thread

Did you ever make the KUMA style box? Just wondering!
Scorponok 09-11-2009, 01:12 PM Did you ever make the KUMA style box? Just wondering!
Actually it is pretty much built, but I'm going to try some different things to my design to see if I can get it lower than what it is now. I measured the height based on how wide my wheelchair is laying down with the wheels on, now I want to see how much it would be if I took the wheels off. It would be a little more work when putting the wheelchair in and out, but it's not a huge deal.
Then I just need to carpet it and it will be done. =)
Heavus 10-01-2009, 03:20 AM I always considered mine like a Stormtrooper too. :) look at my pics

Nice X man. =)
I'm not sure if you've heard but most people on this board are against the brushguard like you have. Due to the bracing they aren't that sturdy and can cause more damage in a front end collision than if you didn't have one. This sucks because I love the looks of them. Just something you might want to think about.
Also, if you have any questions I'll do my best to help, or at least point you in the direction of someone who can. lol
Heavus 10-02-2009, 12:25 AM yeeah i know. i want to get an ARB so bad, i just don't have a job right now. And if i crash, i'll probably die anyways because i'm always speeding. And the only thing i've rammed is a port-a-potty.
Once i get a job, i'm going to get an exhaust system, intake, possibly a snorkel, and a 2 or 3in BL(my classmate with do the lift for like $125). Idk if i'll get the ARB first or the lift.
(any suggestions welcomes)
KlimberKev 10-21-2009, 09:09 AM sweet storm-trooped out X! you should black out the rims and all other plastic. i did the same to my 02 SE (minus the rims) including the emblems. it looks dirty. hell yea.
gravimetric 10-21-2009, 01:07 PM I've got a T-shirt with a print of your window sticker on it. Love it. Very suiting.

I'm planning on blacking out the plastic pieces, but the wheels, top rails, and emblems I'm gonna shoot for a dark metallic gray. =)

Thanks, I got the idea from the t-shirt. I never got a chance to buy one and now I can't ind them anywhere.
It's funny how many times people stop me at red lights and mention my sticker or ask me where I got it. lol

No updates right now. With the holidays and being out of a job I haven't had the budget to do anything. Plus my mom's cancer is back and she's been in the hospital 3 times since Thanksgiving, so I've been spending as much time as possible with her.
drbandkgb 01-08-2010, 09:34 PM Hey man I lost my daughter to Cancer so my prayers are with you and your family.

BigDog107 01-08-2010, 09:49 PM Sorry to hear about your mom's cancer. She is in my prayers.
