I wanna paint my roof rack and side steps gun metal black with spray paint, is there anyway i can prevent chipping?

Just be careful...Rocks do hit up there and if you do use your rack, you're going to start chipping the paint and probably lose color over time. Best thing to do would be to either Herculine it (which may not work for you due to the rubber texture) or go all out and get the thing powdercoated. mbar1156 10-21-2008, 03:05 PM how much do you think it would be to powdercoat it? glazener24 10-21-2008, 03:30 PM I would try the Duplicolor spray on bed liner, it is not a rough as Herculiner but still seems to be quite durable. I painted mine not too long ago with regular black spray paint and it is holding up well for the most part but is still chipping off a bit in some places.
