Thanks guys! Yeah don't worry I will be careful camping... Oops! Oh well yes Camping as in roughing it this weekend up my favorite trail Lake Forest in Alpine Canyon which is the Tibble Fork area. Went and bought a nice collapseable table and screen room today for the trip! Should be exciting and I cant wait! As for the X don't worry guys I can only make things better from here if I get another or even if I decide to keep it.

The rims are Pro Comp 7089 series, they are a 16" inch rim w/ 4" backspacing which is too much by the way! So if you want them see if you can get them in more of a 5" backspacing. Price with tires was like 1400.00 bucks

wish i could. but sadly, i've had a change of heart. got pulled tonight going 67 in a 45. The cop noticed my LED lights in the back window. made me turn them and every light on i had in my truck. the LEDs are white, but he made me take them off. then he made me take my KC lights off the roof cuz i didnt have covers on them. then to add insult to injury, he gave me an effing ticket. so now i have no LEDs or roof lights. =( i feel like im going backwards. love the rims tho.

Off the wall question here, the toggle switch's you have on your center console. Where did you pick it up at? I think I've seen it in another post befor but I can't remember the one. I have some Hella 500FF's that im planning on mounting in the future. Need to get some control for them.

Really seXy X you have man, it's like a peice of art, you shouldn't part with it.

I know this is old and this X is now gone (sadly) but you have a new one now so tomorrow sometime I plan on going through that thread :D Took me 4 hours (amongst other distractions) to go through this entire thread lol

Your story is very inspiring Alex...it was very touching at the beggining and I am glad that you are keeping up the KUMA spirit. I too lost a dog whom our whole family loved...Schwarzkopf was his name lol he was a fat, lovable dog ;) I miss him sometimes :(

I cannot wait until I get to start offroading with my truck. It's a 4cyl so I won't be able to go nuts like you were able to but after reading this, I might decide to sell my truck later on down the road and get a v6 4x4 KC 1st gen Fronty :D

I'll go through the next thread tomorrow sometime man...can't wait for that one! :D

lol...theirs a 2010 offroad here for 20k.....I think he'll be hard pressed to get 11 especially since he screwed up the wiring....It says so in the add lol.
That is screwed up though......its sad to see this...You gave him a great price on a great x and he took advantage of the situation....you might post duplicate threads with the same pics telling everybody what it was sold for, that also directs them here....then he'll have a really hard time selling it

08-19-2011, 11:44 PM
What about that custom roof rack I never saw you say anything about that

KUMA
08-20-2011, 12:52 AM
Yeah roof rack fell behind because I don't have a way to bend tube, the tube bender I have we discovered unless it's really thick walled steel wont bend without crushing the tube... And I might as well stop keeping things under the radar :P I am actually very seriously considering selling KUMA 2.0 for KUMA 3.0! Hahaha I know I know! But I realized how much I really love the styling of the second gens especially when you get that front bumper off...

Plus the bigger engine, a good steering setup, a good paint job and a much nicer and more functional interior! But most importantly, though more expensive but better lifts! So the only way I am going to sell KUMA 2.0 is if I find a nice OR (have to have that locker) in good shape w/ timing belt done or with low miles. I don't want to continue on this X if I know that I don't feel satisfied with it for the next 5 years!

So for those of you who this isn't a shock too, sorry you may think I am bagging on the first gens which are great and I love them! And for those of you who are shocked by me wanting to sell this one, I have some good plans for the second gen! Oh and also I am paying on my X right now about 1k less then what I can buy a second gen for... So my payments would be roughly the same!

First step would 285/85R16's Goodyear Duratracs, second would be Trail Gear sliders, third a custom built rack (square tubing w/ no bends) for the back!!! I have the rack all planned out and I think you guys will love it! I would start construction the first week I got the new X. To give you guys an idea what the rack would have, an AR-15 holder w/ several clips, 2 side racks one of which will have my powertank and the other w/ my air compressor and a high flow fan to blow the heat out of the back hatch. Several removable sections for holding various things like oil quarts, antifreeze and maybe some window washer fluid. A slide out tray that can be used as a working surface which will hold tools underneath it. And even a holder for 2x chairs and a camping table! I even have a special lobo rack design in mind! ;) Just to get some people excited! I will however be saving money for a titan swap and aim to have that done within about 24 mths :P

Any questions? Or am I just crazy?

zachbiz
08-20-2011, 10:22 AM
second gens dont use timing belts, they use timing chains which need to be adjusted every 105k miles (i think, could be more) but do not ever need to be replaced.

KUMA
08-20-2011, 10:48 AM
Really? I had no idea that is interesting! See how much I know :P

08-20-2011, 02:18 PM
I'm a huge fan of the true 1st gen X's and of the 2nd gen X's. The 1.5 gen X's and Fronty's are meh to me so I say go for it! I'll probably be following your footsteps in the 1st gen department sooner or later. Just waiting on my Basic Training orders and whatnot. The sooner that's done with the sooner I'll be in my X. Good luck with your sale bud.

It's 3" Calmini UCA's and SAW Torsion bars but only cranked to 1.5 inches, then a single rancho AAL and Shackle in rear. You can run 265's with no lift thats what my current X has right now with almost no rub.
