Kinda newbie question but I want to know what is the difference between SE and one that does not have the emblem on the rear hatch.

I have an 03 5spd, loaded, no leather seats, gun metal rims etc. If someone can let me know what the difference is, the wife and I would appreciate it it?

SE came with (at least in 2000 and 2001) upgraded seat fabric, 6-in-dash cd changer, steering wheel controls for the radio, sunroof, and the SE badge. I believe (but don't quote me) in 2002 - 2004 the SE came with all of the above plus a darker color on the roof rails and running boards, and the sunroof became optional on the SE. Hope that helps

oh and SE had a titanium color dash and surrond around the radio and A/C Heater controls. In 2002 - 2004 the titanium was around the window switches. I hope i got everything

The SE was also available supercharged and a hard to find option package included leather seats.

yea thats correct. I got an SE and i got the lighter color around the ac controls, steering wheel controls, 6 disc in dash CD player and also the auto dim rearview mirror with temp and direction.

Wow mine must have be one of the very first, I really dont have to much in my SE, I have a sunroof and a few small things but no big interior details or the mirror or anything. As for the cd player I dont know because the previous owner put a aftermarket in...

i have notice that some people have painted the titanium surround a black color. It tends to scratch really easily.

Ok guys thanks for your input but it does not clarify my problem.. I have a 2003 Supercharged darker roof rails, upgraded cloth-like interior, steering wheel controls,silver surround radio, sunroof p/w/l etc...basically everything you guys have stated above minus leather it has...... BUT mine does not say SE on the back I want to know why

Well, I would think that the supercharged is more of a "premium" package of all so it may have more features or just is better package than a SE offers....

i would have to assume that the rear hatch got replaced at sometime and it didnt have the SE on it. That what i would think.

alright I think I will go with that a stop dwelling on it, this means our Xterra is SE but more options so does not qualify as a SE model.

Not to pull this up again, but I just think that your SE emblem was taken off at some point. It's not possible to overqualify the SE model. Some SE's have more options than others, but a fully optioned out SE is still an SE. To my knowledge, I have every option that was offered 2003 and I still have the SE badge on the tailgate. Hope this helps.

maybe trunk was repainted and se was taken off, order a badge. check with dealer, give them your vin. they will say if it is an se or not. the badge is probably 10 dollars or something stuck on with 3m body tape.

Roger on the titanium colouring. The buttons for the rear-window defrost and 4-way hazards have that trim and get scratched very easily.

My SE doesn't have the leather seats but has the other features listed. Not sure on a different colour roof-rack though, looks the same as other 1st Gen Xs I've seen.

Since my '05 SE is second gen, the sound of a sunroof and a stock supercharger sounds sweet. I never knew or even seen a sunroof'd Xterra.

i have to say NO that it dosent come with a bigger motor... the xe and the se came with the same motor vg33 unless you got the 4cyl..... also with mine its a se but it dosent have the fosgsate system so i guess it wasent a option in 00 but i really cant say...

and the se had a moonroof not a sunroof... all they do it pop up about a inch or so
