This is for an OR which ironically already has a locker available, but "X's & Frontiers w/ a standard Transmission also have an M226.. but it's not locked." "The reason ARB didn't make the C200K locker first is that Nissan only used the C200K diff in N. American model trucks. The entire rest of the world got the M226 instead. So ARB made a Locker that would be able to be used world wide and not only in the US / N. America." Steevo at RuggedRocks.

"ARB said the Nissan M226 (Dana 44 Variant found in the Nissan Titan & 05+ OR model Xterras and Frontiers and those w/ standard transmission) Air Locker would be here in Late '08 and Here it is! Rugged Rocks has been working with the ARB marketing Dept. over the last few weeks to Obtain, Install and Test the first ARB M226 ARB Air Locker in N. America. An install article will be posted online within the next few days and the rest of the M226 Air Lockers are scheduled to arrive here in the U.S. on Oct. 20th. You can Pre-Order your M226 ARB Air Locker w/ Free Shipping from Rugged Rocks Off Road here: http://ruggedrocksoffroad.com/arb-air-locker-nissan-m226-nissan-xterra-05-p-3715.html" Steevo at RuggedRocks

I must correct/add to my initial post above. "The X's & Frontiers w/ a standard Transmission also have an M226.. but it's not locked." Steevo at RuggedRocks

$900 ain't bad really for a locker, but you have to get the compressor also...

That price will come down just a little in the future...but like mentioned, that's really not that bad of a price for a locker for it being a new product...and certainly in demand from what I hear from a lot of the 2nd gen guys....that's great news!

Interesting, what level of off road difficulty would require this upgrade from the original electric locker?

Weren't there common problems or failures of some 2nd Gen. Xterras that have the factory rear locker?

I know of a few people that had the factory rear end take a dump on them attributing it to the factory rear locker....and this was in situations that weren't even off road, but rather on pavement during regular driving (not using the locker, but it played a part in the failure).

I would think that would be reason enough to upgrade from the factory locker to an ARB.
