New Brunswick got doused by the remnants of the hurricane and so did my X: I left the damn sun roof open!

Not as bad as I would have expected though. The front seats are a little damp and there's a little water in the cup holders. Surprisingly the rear seat carpet is dry.

Any recommended action? It smells like wet dog in there.

Time for neoprene covers!

I would get a steam cleaner or a shop vac (wet vac) and get as much of the water out of the seats as possible. Then I would get a dehumidifier and leave it running all night. I wouldn't febreze it or anything until you get the moisture out.

keyz is right....you've got to get all the moisture out or the smell will just keep coming back. if you've got the time and can do without the x for a day or two, i would take the seats out and take the covers off and let the foam dry out real well. then febreeze away once they're dry and put it all back together.....then get a real nice air freshener for the x

After you dehumidify, there's some Mold Remediation Treatment spray I picked up in the Tool Rental area at Home Depot that I'd try using. I'm currently using it in my house. I've sanded the walls, and am drenching them with this Mold Treatment stuff before sealing with Kilz primer and tar paper before re-insulating them.

Talk to PVFJR or go to his rig in the build up section.

oh man that sucks, but i'd do what the others said, nothing stinks worse then mold and mildew and im sure you don't want your truck smelling like that for as long as you own it, get a carpet cleaner and run it on your seats, i'd take the seats out before you do that though and afterwards just let them sit in the sun light for a couple hours, then spray with some sort of an oder eliminator then put the seats back in, if that dont work i don't know what else you could do.

i have to agree use the shop vac and after you are done put in a dehumidifier and let it do its magic for at least a day....

Doesn't seem to be as bad as I thought. I was able to air it out some yesterday and this morning it wasn't funkadelic.

I've sprayed down all the surfaces with Lysol for what's it's worth. No time to shop vac it, but I'll try that anti-mold stuff from Home Despot if it becomes an issue.

did you get any stains on your seats? Im wondering because it seems that I cannot remove the moisture stain out. I left back window open and it looks like i have a huge circle stain that will not go away. any suggestion

Take the seat out and give it a good soak and clean. Mine cleaned up wonderfully.
