Hello....

I'm in the process of shopping for a new vehicle and have been looking at the Xterras for quite some time now and I'm thinking that's what I'm going to buy. I need a rugged vehicle that has a towing capacity of at least 3000 lbs. maybe 3500 lbs., to tow a horse trailer w/2 horses aboard. So my question to any and all of you is....do you think the Xterra has what it takes to do this??? HELLLLLLLLLLLP!!!!!

No info as far as towing goes, but welcome to the club.

It depends on if you are looking at the new Xterra or the first Generation. I have never towed a horse trailer, so perhaps I don't know all the details.

The new Xterra is rated at 5000 pounds towing capacity.

I have a friend with the new Frontier (same motor and transmission), and he is a police officer who deals with the mounted patrol. His truck is acceptable to tow the smaller horse trailer that the department has. That being said I wouldn't think that the Xterra couldn't handle it.
