Try WD-40? It might work and does work for road paint on your inside fenders....

Wd 40 won't hurt at all hell you can use paint thinner if you need to. I use to detail at an acura dealership and used paint thinner to get stuff off all the time. Peanut butter will also work well...

We like to use the clay bar system for hard to get off stuff like overspray, rail dust, taggers paint, etc... It should do the trick, and you'll get a smoothness you've probably never felt before on your paint, lol. We use it on all of our personal and customer cars, some of which are worth over a half a million dollars, lol. The stuff rocks. Beware though, once you do the bad spots, you'll want to do the whole car, because it makes you paint look and feel so killer, lol.

peanut butter? really?

Brandon says peanut butter because there is one active ingredient. That ingredient is vegetable oil. That stuff works great on tree sap. It is the stuff to use on stuff like that. Don't get PB though, get veg. oil.

Aw, now you took all the fun out of his PB joke!
I thought car wax was expensive imagine the cost to cover your car in PB...at least you'd be a hit with all the neighborhood dogs.

Thing is, he was serious! PB will do the trick, but veg. oil is the parft of the pb that is doing it for you.

I use Goof Off or Oops, or a claybar.

Peanut oil is acts as an emulsifier to remove things like tar and spray paint

The brake cleaner would have worked as well. The WD in WD-40 stands for Water displacement.

use compound. be paitient, it will come off. or cleaner wax. what color is the car? if it is black or a flat color, dont rub too hard. or else you will have to polish out the scratches.
