i need new tires for my trailer
its a 16' tandem axle trailer that weighs 1500lbs and carries 4000lb(about) load

the tires were used when i bought it, the front axle has 235/70/15 and the rear has 235/75/15 tires on it

im not sure why there are different size tires front and back

im looking for relatively cheap tires that can easily handle the load

what do you recommend?

Check out Lowes or Home Depot. they usually have just the replacement tires. not sure on a price though. I would definetly match all 4 up though. My tandem axle made to carry 6K LBS has 4 matched tires. You could always check out discount tire direct too. Free shipping!

mines made to carry 6k but i use it to haul the 4runner around and really nothing else even close to as heavy, though it did haul a rubicon, 95 4runner, and 88 turbo supra

basically im just looking for a stable tire on the highway with that much weight

how about these?
in the price range im lookin for, but i have no idea about load range
the tires need to be able to carry at least 5000lbs between the 4 of them

Goodyear makes a Marathon Radial Trailer Tire close to that size but they run $80-$90 ea. I'll see what else I can find online when I have time.

After reading more on these, I think the reason you have 2 different sizes is because the 235/70-15 seem to be really hard to find. 235/75-15 seems to be a more common size.

I'm also having a hard time fnding tire specific for a trailer. You want the tires to be a basic simple highway tread with good load rating and wear protection that resists uneven wear is the reasons to look for trailer specific tires. I know that Kumho has some but I cannot find them online. You could also check around local RV and Boat shops to see where they suggest to look for trailer tires locally.
