The street tire section does get much play, so forgive me asking it here.
I want some good riding and handling street tires.
Hot sun and when it does rain, it rains! (Phoenix)
Also I hate road noise!
If this post needs to be moved, I will understand.
Thks

Street section is still somewhat new, so that is why there are not many posts.

If you want something that handles well in the rain and on the street, you might want to look into Yokohama Geolander at II. I have heard good stuff about those.

I`m riding Falken ZIEX S/TZ01`s.265/60/18.I`m very happy with their performance.I live on Maui so we have similar climate.Their ride is smooth and they`re quiet.

Drake from your XOTM pic I would think you would opt for a quiet MT like the Toyo Open Country MT or the Pro Comp Xtreme MT both are very quiet and handle great on street as well as yielding awesome trail performance. Or at least an AT...I ran BFG AT's on a Jeep once and they don't make any noise. Just some food for thought.

I could be wrong guys but I think Duke is looking for a strictly Street tire.Aren`t Geolanders a combo tire?

Yeah, I had BFG A/T's on my jeep before I sold it for my Xterra....they rode nice and was smooth, and my friends had told me that they didn't make noises on the road when they rode with me...I will more likely get BFG A/T's again when I am done with all the required lifts on the X since I have heard that those BFG M/T's do a horrible job of gaining traction in event of icy road or snow and BFG A/T's dont...and from my experience....the A/T's handled those weather very well.

After doing a lot of reading going with the Michelin LTX M/S (Highway All-Season) or the Geolander hts.
This is after reading ALL the reviews at Discount Tire.
These damn cupped OEMs feel out of balance again.
Input?

Haven't heard much on the Michelin's but the Geolander's get pretty decent reviews. Unfortunately I haven't used either so can't tell you of any personal experience.

Hey Duke, in the future, just come back to this thread, and write

BUMP. What this will do is it will bring it to the top, and anyone can read it.

As far as the two tires, I recommend the one that I have heard better stuff about on here,-the geolanders.

As far as your OEM tires, I think either the tires are too worn, or the shop that did it doesn't know what they are doing.

Michelin treadware 440.
Geolander's 500
OEM are also 440.
The damn dealer by not doing what I paid them to do caused the tires to cup.

Hey Duke, what about Toyo Proxes S/T ??? They've been awesome on 1/2-ton trucks and look like they're avail in close to OEM sizes for you. I don't know enough about your X to know the size you're looking for but the Proxes are avail in these sizes which one should be close enough to a size you need.

hey i hear the geolanders are good and the continentals, those toyos look sick though!

Pops

Continentals suck, at least the Contitracs that came OEM on the Armada are some of the worst tires available. Those Proxes can be bought for around $105-$110/ea and will last well over twice as long as most Continentals or Goodyears will. I had some Nitto NT404 (Made by Toyo) which are basically the same as the Proxes and they were the best street tires that I've ever owned. I wish they were avail in Truck/SUV sizes but the Proxes is pretty much the same.

If you get them Duke, you'll love them like everyone else does. Post up if you cannot find a good price locally, we have some site sponsors that might be able to help get a decent price.

Well, after much research, I got the Michelin LTX M/S.
Web price out the door was $777.14.
I paid $746.16 which includes AZ 8.10% Sales Tax.
Treadware is 500 by the way.
Nice looking tire by the way and great reviews all over the web.
Sidewall is 2 ply, 2 steel belts and 2 poly belts.
I also got to talk to real people who have them.
Here is a link to read about them:
http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/findTireDetail.do?v=013589%7C2007&r=AZEINT%7Cpc%7C85282&pc=35640&ar=70&rd=16&cs=265
Road test out the door.
100 mile run as today is a work day, but I am the boss.
Average Freeway speed 80 mph.
Did hit 90 a few times.
Nice super quiet ride.
Almost forgot which car I was in, like night and day.
Almost got the Geolanders, but for about 100.00 more I got what I feel is a top name brand.
I wish to thank all of you for your input.
Will give milage updates.
I donated my BF OEMs with only 15,000 miles as they would be good if you are broke and needed some tires.

Good job!!! Personally, Michelins don't appeal to me but they are good onroad tires. They are made of a Silica compond that makes them lighter weight than most other tires with good TWI so that means better MPG's for you over the life of the tires and a pretty decent life span from them.

Price just went up $8.00 per tire over night.
So, it appears there was a tire cost increase at Discount tire last night.
I am calling Joe the plumber!

No.
They will not.
Otherwise, we'd be running them already!

Unfortunately they are two totally different bolt patterns and hub bores too if I'm not mistaken.

Loving my tires!
MPG went up from those OEM tires.
Holds corners like glue.
Road noise is zip.
Better road feel.
Plus my wife still does not know I changed them out.
That is the best part!

You can get wheel adapters that will allow those to work on your 2000 xterra.
Wheeladapter.com ,and ezaccessory.com will have what you need.

Ebay has some as well.
