Hi There,
I am new in this form I hope Its OK with you guy's.
I am a Hunter so I take my X to hunt a lot. After my first hunt 3 years ago with my sparkling new X arived home with some scrtches on ...you can imagine what I heard from .....
Right now everything its Ok just proud of my new Dayton MT Timberline tires.
On 1st of September the hunting season starts so I will be able to share more info about the tires.
I just was fed up with the Nissan Dealrs and their crap service.
Just burd out my two TPMS sensors in the rear tires and they want to charg for those two installed $270 +TAX :aufkopfhauen-big:
I found on the inetrnet the Orange TPMS Sensor Kit for $165.
What's your opinion?

Welcome to club x!
Nice to see another hunter among us. I like to go chucker and pheasant hunting mostley and I have been on deer hunts (unfortunately, never got one). You have any pictures of your local hunting areas?
As for the sensors, I would also check with Les Schwab and other tire repair shops because they carry them onsite and I've seen them cheaper than $165 (American)...

Welcome to CX! :wink-big:
Some of the 2nd gen guys can probably help you with your TPMS issues. Look forward to some pics of your X!

welcome to the club man! sorry to hear about the issues with the dealer. i would try to shop around for another one if there are more in your area. i had to have a tpms replaced on my rig, they covered the part under warranty for me and i didn't have to pay anything, and that was after it broke during it being re-mounted on an aftermarket rim, so it really shouldn't have even been covered.
i beleive that if you get one from another source other than nissan, you're still going to have to take it in to the dealer to get the x's computer to recognize the signal from the sensor, or you're still going to be riding around with the light on the dash. your other option is just to cover the light or ignore it, but if you're like me, that little light would drive you nuts and i figured since i paid for the system with the x, i wanted it to be functional.
that's the only downside of these rigs, a lot of the technology is so crazy and expensive that only a nissan dealer will do the work on them. i've been real fortunate with where i live right now and have a great service department that will still work on my rig, cover things under warranty, and have great customer service, even though i've got a lift on mine, which is usually the deal-killer for service dept's.
hope you get it sorted out

try here: http://www.courtesyparts.com/betasite/40700m-sensor-unit-tire-pressure-xterra-n50-2005-09/2005-12/2006-sseoffroad-p-10330.html
$64.00 each is a little better than $270 + tax...you'll probably still have to pay for install, but should be cheaper still

Welcome aboard. Fortunately there are places that sell the sensors cheaper and as said above you still have to take it to the dealer to have the ECM programmed.

FYI, Les Schwab replaced two of my TPMS and they were able to reset the system on the X. You may want try them before going to a dealer.
