Drake 08-19-2008, 05:27 PM Since Kyle was showing off his new SLR parts, I just couldn't help but doing the same with my uca's. I can't wait to get these bad boys installed!

Wow those look massive. More likely to rip a piece of the frame off than break those hunks of metal.
cbzdel 08-19-2008, 06:01 PM do you get any lift with those?? thats the econ lift right?? I thought it was just a stock replacement that was super though...
i could be totally wrong though since slr doesnt come up much anymore....
TN4x4Xterra 08-19-2008, 06:30 PM That weld job looks so magnificent and well done!
silverbullet 08-19-2008, 06:34 PM econ-line right? kyles are stage I think and the ones that are in the mail headed to me are stage too. I wish i had that powdercoating though. and i'm gonna have to drill and tap mine for the grease fittings

gixxersixxerman 08-19-2008, 08:14 PM AND they went out of buisness why.... those look great, great welds, grease fitting, powder coating looks top notch, i cant tell if those are poly or ruber bushings but that looks like a good peice........... why arent they around anymore
json3904 08-19-2008, 08:28 PM the guys Son took over the business and ran it to the ground... he took a bunch of orders and then disappear without giving there money back..... and if you have looked at there site there stuff wasn't cheap.. LOL
TN4x4Xterra 08-19-2008, 08:53 PM Man, I wish SLR stayed around in business....that woulda been freakin' awesome and they'd have a good line of customers from this forum....
json3904 08-19-2008, 09:05 PM they used to have a good line of customers from all the forums.... i almost bought my lift from them... but i went with ac cause i liked the way dustins rode and i have the same stance but without the spacers....
Brett89 08-19-2008, 10:21 PM welds like that excite me, nuff sed.
soccerbrace 08-20-2008, 01:11 AM Drake, save yourself some heartache, and buy some blue loctite.
Use the following order Get longer bolts for the BJ
bolt head
lock washer
through the UCA
Through the BJ
Lock washer
Nylock nut
and loctite it all!!!!!
Just trust me on this. You do not want your BJ separating from the UCA!!!! It already happened to me on my Calmini
silverbullet 08-20-2008, 04:33 AM TN you should get the second set of SLR UCA's over on NOR. Really cheap and totally worth it. $225 shipped.

X2!!! My ball joints seperate on me almost every time I go out wheeiling. But I also keep 3 spare ball joints with me 24/7

Yes they are for lift and not stock replacements. They were part of a complete SLR lift kit the guy was selling but I talked him into letting me have the uca's. If I had taken a better side view shot you could tell the angle much better. They may be the econo's but I'm not sure. With the site no longer available, there's really no way to research the stuff anymore. They are rock solid and I like the design much better than the tubular uca's.
That's funny Kyle... I've always known them as grease fittings and on "another" site, I got hazed for calling them that and told they were zerks. So I guess I was steered in the wrong direction. lol
And they are rubber bushings.
I'm going to google on my break today at work and see if I can find an old listing of SLR's stuff because I'm interested to get more details on this.
"They may be the econo's but I'm not sure"
From what I remember when researching them, those do look like the econos. The tubular ones (stage 4) allow for extra droop while keeping the ball joint aligned.

Drake 08-20-2008, 10:41 AM Man I'm finding everything out about SLR except the crap I want to know. I wish I could find somebody running these UCA's to get their opinion on them. I would like to have the extra droop but these things look bombproof which is good for me and my style. hahaha
punkrockdrummerx 08-20-2008, 11:41 AM lol I know AC calls them zerks as well, but go in to a parts store and ask for a zerk and they will laugh at you lol
w00t for the waybackmachine, lol...
may take a few minutes to load, at least for me it did.... (notice the ZERK option, haha)

Drake 08-20-2008, 04:07 PM Nice find! Now I'm feeling a little better. I was beginning to get concerned whether or not I had gotten ripped off. Looks to me like I got a pretty sweet deal afterall. Ordering my new Bils for the front tomorrow and picking up my eccentric washers from Nissan as well (if they are there as promised).
xcrazy 11-20-2010, 09:00 PM How are these UCAs doing now?
Drake 11-25-2010, 12:43 PM Still rock solid and still on the original ball-joints which highly surprised me with as much abuse as I put them through. The powdercoating is still flawless as well. Too bad he isn't in business anymore because the quality of work is far beyond comparison to others.
