Last night after I got home from work, I opened up the hood of my 06 X to check the air filter. Upon opening the hood I noticed oil splattered all over the drivers side of the engine, and engine bay. This of course would account for the smell of burning oil I've had since my last oil change 3 weeks ago. The Nissan dealer had forgoten to put the filler cap back on. I put a temp. cover on it, and drove to the dealer first thing this morning. The service writter worked pretty hard to defuse me, I have to hand it to him. He's probobly watched all the same customer service videos I have. They cleaned the engine, grabbed a cap off another new X, washed the X and apologized non stop.

I can top that. One time, I took my old Bronco to Jiffy lube before going on a long trip. Comming home, the thing was running real wierd. For whatever reason, I checked the oil and the was NO OIL!. This truck never leaked or burned a drop of oil. Jiffy lube forgot to put oil in the truck....
If I were you I would have been livid to say the least....

Thats just horrible.
I actually work at a very honest dealership.. the owners and service manager MAKE SURE that everything is done by the book and if there's someone out there trying to cheat our customers, they don't work there for long... we've been through Techs and Service Consultants like crazy.
And I'm VERY honest when people come in, and thats' why my customers keep coming back... but I know why it is that people are leary of me when they first come in for service.. the automotive industry has a horrible reputation, because plain and simple most people don't know any better when it comes to cars...
it's just sad that places like that exist.. it gives us all a very bad name.
