Hi guys,

Semi Noob here. I had an 04 X Supercharged which in 07 i traded for a 4runner.

I am now going to buy an 08 off-road Xterra again. (Welcome me back)

Anyway, my dealer doesn't have one on his lot but he said he could get me one within 2 weeks.

Ok so we argue about price for about 2 days and he finally caves in. I get it for the price i want. The only thing i didn't discuss was the technology package which i would really like to have, but technically i'm not paying for.

SOOOOOO. I have 2 questions.

1. How many of the off-roads come from the factory without the upgraded stereo? Do you think it's almost like default that i'm going to get it anyway?

2. if i don't get the rockford system.....how bad is the stock stereo in the X?

I'll have to let the other guys chime in on the new option packages because I'm still sticking with my ol' trusty '04.

When I was looking for my X, it was hard to find an OR with the Rockford system. Mine was stock, and actually it's not bad for a stock system (though I immediately got a new head unit). After the head unit, I installed a sub and have not touched my audio system since. If you get a good deck, like eclipse, you'll get decent audio quality out of those speakers. Then again, I'm not all about music (rather hear a great exhaust tone ;) ).

Considering the difficulty my local dealers had at finding an Off Road with the RF system when I went to do my mp3 test I'd say it's a slim chance but you might get lucky. Good luck!
Mind if I ask what you paid? I'm currently shopping for one myself and curious as to what other dealers are letting them go for, give me an idea if I should drive to another state as the WA dealers seem to feel these are 'wanted' vehicles. ;)

after being a complete d_ck for about a week I got almost $10k off sticker. My dealer hates my guts.

My 06' OR has the RF system from the factory. It sounds pretty good for stock.
