Hello all, I have learned a lot viewing this forum and decided to register today. I just bought an 06 X 4wd s in night armor and added the utility package, fog lights, hood protector and rain deflectors. I'm real happy with truck and it's performance. The one thing I'm dissappointed with is the poorly designed rain deflectors. They have two sided tape and metal mounting brackets that make direct contact with the painted surface of the door/window frame??? Any of you have these on your X? If so what is your opinion of them possibly damaging the paint?

Hello and welcome! Try the in channel vent shades...other than your window squeaking when you put it up a bit till they break in...no paint issues

Hey, thanks for replying so quickly. Wish I had posted that question here before having Nissan put thier visors on mine...guess at this point I should just leave them on. Thanks again for the advice.

Owen,
Welcome to the club!
Did the dealer put those deflectors on or are they factory installed?
If they're factory installed, I wouldnt worry about it. If the dealer installed them, the longer you leave that double faced tape on the truck, the harder it will be to take it off.
I had them on my old Bronco with 2 faced tape and, after a few summers of the sun baking them on, there was no removing them gracefully.
Just a thought. :)

Welcome to the board! :)
I have no answers for you, sorry :) I haven't added any toys to my X. But we're full of knowledgeable people.

Yeah, I would go back to the dealer and tell them you are unhappy with the vent shields and ask them to get you a pair of in-channel. They are nice, but as Alley said, they take some time to break in. They are also a bit more expensive which I find odd as they are a simpler design.
