: Oumoose Xterra
OUMOOSE 07-14-2008, 09:54 PM Here are some new pics of the X with my new brushguard, thanks again Drake. I used the dupont spray-on bedliner for the brushguard and it worked great.

TN4x4Xterra 07-14-2008, 09:55 PM Nicely done! Like the texture on the guard just like mine!
vandebogart 07-14-2008, 11:03 PM Nice! :)
Gilligan_From_IT 07-14-2008, 11:38 PM Did you apply that with a brush?
TN4x4Xterra 07-14-2008, 11:41 PM or possibly one of those truck bed linex spray can I see all the time in the stores?
Anthony 07-15-2008, 01:02 AM Very nice truck! Now we just need one final picture: "After Brush Guard Removed"
:D

Drake 07-15-2008, 07:23 AM Very nice bro! That looks really good!
Yeah Anthony, we all know the dislike of the b'guards and OUMOOSE told me when he asked about buying mine that he doesn't offroad and it was mainly for cosmetics otherwise I wouldn't have sold it to him. Everybody that inquired about buying it, I made sure that they understood what they were getting into with it.
X~Terror 07-15-2008, 07:46 AM I love it...where did you get the paint? I have a brush guard that I need to paint as well.:aufkopfhauen-big::bubblegum-big:
Jdubbau02 07-15-2008, 07:49 AM Looks good man i like it
k1w1t1m 07-15-2008, 08:33 AM Looking good. My wife's an an OU fan too, which isn't surprising since that's her home state.
OUMOOSE 07-15-2008, 09:20 AM Yes, this was done with the Dupont Spray-on Bedliner. I believe its around 8 bucks for a can at Autozone. I had to use 2 cans.
Anthony, yes, I understand its not good for offroading. I debated it a long time. I really do not have anywhere around here to offroad, nor can I seem to find the time. So, I got it for looks. Yeah, i guess I am a poser. And, I know it can do more damage to the front of my car, but that is what insurance is for right? $500 and it gets fixed regardless of the damage. I think it gives it a nice look. I would not have paid $500 for a new one, but Drake made me a good deal so I thought what the heck. This is used to get me to work everyday, the bike trails, and occasionally to the lake. So its very light offroading, nothing major.
I really like the looks of the "trail rig" Xterras, but I don't like to tear up my only transportation.
Ehsan 07-15-2008, 09:27 AM nice looking x, the rims set it off good
TN4x4Xterra 07-15-2008, 12:15 PM I'll have to get that truck bedliner spray on paint sometime....that looks really good, nice paint job!
soccerbrace 07-15-2008, 12:22 PM I knew that would look good! Nice looking X!
k1w1t1m 07-15-2008, 12:25 PM You'll have to join us at Disney sometime in September.
...... I really do not have anywhere around here to offroad, ......
This is where I used to go once in awhile during open season and always did my best to Tread Lightly while there.

glazener24 07-15-2008, 04:44 PM Nice truck, now if we could just do something about that front license plate...;)
Nice truck, now if we could just do something about that front license plate...;)
How true. Something like this would be much more appropriate. :D
OUMOOSE 07-15-2008, 04:51 PM Yeah, I was going to go with bigger OU but I just didn't want to seem like I was bragging to much. I know their are a bunch of Texas people on the board. We seem to always still their good players.

Hahaha, that's not quite what I meant.

Dude, I wasn't lecturing you. And I certainly didn't call you a poser, we all do different things with our trucks... but NO ONE here is a poser.
Hahaha, that's not quite what I meant.
This will be the look after his next set of mods. - hehe :D

Hahahahaha.....I'd like to see that! lol
Donatello21 07-15-2008, 10:45 PM no one here is a poser, we all love each other cuz we have the most badass SUV's out there, i mean, c'mon, they come with a friggin first aid kit built into the trunk door. btw, i love the way your rig looks with those rims

x2 on that man, dont worry about what we think of you...your a fellow Xterra member and we're always looking forward to meeting/interacting with other fellow Xterra noobs. Oh yeah, Xterras are better than Fords :) Hahaha.
X~Terror 07-16-2008, 07:30 AM Yeah I agree....everyone has their own taste....no one will judge you for that.
I have always liked the grille guards...I do not off road so I don't have to worry about my "approach".
It looks great don't worry about it.:wink-big:
Drake 07-16-2008, 07:34 AM Hey guys... I think everybody is taking Anthony's remark out of context. He didn't mean that in any insulting way at all. It's just sort of a continual laugh among the offroad crowd about brushguards. He didn't intend that in anyway to be a shot at OU's decision to mount a brushguard. Just a light flaming I guess you could say.
JaXTerra 07-16-2008, 08:57 AM Yo your truck looks killa man........cept for one thing that I think you oughta do......... replace the OU with UT!:aufkopfhauen-big:
OUMOOSE 07-16-2008, 10:59 AM I did not think at all that he was lecturing me or calling me a poser. That was a self described comment. No worries Anthony.
I have always been into customer vehicles, this is my first 4X4 vehicle. Oh wait, no, I did have a 88 Nissan Hardbody that was a 4X4, that thing NEVER got stuck it was a monster. But, this is my second. Typically I had lowered trucks, SUV's, so like i said, no worries and I called myself the Poser. I didn't think anyone else did.
If you did or thought that, I don't care anyway!

That reminds me of this custom trike this guy has in Ardmore, the back of it is made to look like the Schooner. Even I have to admit that thing is pretty neat.

Yo Tina, You might like my grille guard in my gallery :devil-big: Haha
OUMOOSE 08-11-2008, 08:24 PM So, as i said earlier i paid off the X last month. It is so nice to not have that car payment. However, I was scared of what might happen since its paid off...you know how it goes. So, I went camping this past weekend and I was going through this gate arm thing and it f'ing came down on my hood. It was this long wooden gate arm that had a stop sign on it. The stop sign hit my hood. I was so pissed I almost planted my foot into the floor board and ripped that thing down. But, I didn't thanks to my wife's cool head. So, now I have this dent and scrape on my hood. Anyway, i knew you guys would sympathize! I haven't figured out what I am going to do about this yet. I was going to work the dent out myself, but its hidden behind the brace in the hood.
Piece of sh*t arm.
:usuck:
TN4x4Xterra 08-11-2008, 08:30 PM Have you talked to anybody about that gate arm? They might be held responsible for that due to its mechanical failure....just a suggestion.
Or do you have full coverage? Could just pay the deductible and get it fixed.
OUMOOSE 08-11-2008, 10:20 PM I have full coverage with a 500 deduct...They had a sign posted that said only one car can go through at a time. It was dark someone was in front of me and I could not see the sign. I don't think it was faulty, it was just bad luck I guess. And, this was a ma and pa place that could barely function in the "modern" world. So, I didn't even try to talk with them.
jeffkooper 08-11-2008, 10:31 PM nice x
TN4x4Xterra 08-11-2008, 11:03 PM Post a pic of the damage if you want....just curious of how bad a gate like that could do...since I pass through one alot of times when I'm in downtown area....
tameroflions 08-11-2008, 11:05 PM that sucks about your hood man, i would have talked to the people and atleast advised them to put the sign in a better place so that crap wouldnt have to happen to anyone else.
let us know what happens w/ it.
your x looks tight btw. i really like the look of all the black, get some tints on it and itll really stand out.
OUMOOSE 01-06-2009, 09:56 PM Well its tax season so time to do some more mods. I am not sure what i want to do next. I wanted opinions...understand that i do not offroad much at all.
I am for sure planning on getting new tires...yet undecided on what kind.
My other ideas are:
1. Exhaust - flowmaster or magnaflow
2. 2-4 Hella Lights
3. Sliders - I know, i don't offroad, for looks and when I do go. Plus my 4 year old daughter is getting heavy!
4. More lift
5. BL - I would love this, but I do not have anyone that can help me do it.
6. ??????
Thanks for the help and ideas....
TN4x4Xterra 01-06-2009, 10:01 PM Hellas or Sliders should be the way to go
OUMOOSE 01-07-2009, 02:58 PM Thanks for the advice TN.
EYEGUY05 01-07-2009, 07:36 PM exhaust and hellas...like you said you dont go off roading...no need for sliders...i do a little off roading and i want to do a pml and exhaust with some of my income tax this year... hopefully i get to do it...
OUMOOSE 01-07-2009, 07:40 PM I may just try to find some used sliders...or have some fab'd up. It would be an expensive "step" for my daughter.
TN4x4Xterra 01-08-2009, 03:08 PM hey man, my silver OEM Xterra stepbars are for sale if your interested?
Screed 01-08-2009, 03:15 PM I know everyone tears brush guards to shreds, but I think yours look pretty sweet. I would put 2 round hella 500's on there.
OUMOOSE 01-08-2009, 03:28 PM I have my OEM steps in my garage...I took them off because I don't like them. But, like i said, she is getting heavy! She could maninpulate the slider as a step I think.
Yes, everyone shreds brushguards....approach angle, damage, blah, blah, blah...but I agree it looks nice. And, isn't that what its all about? I think I am definitely going with the HELLA's. Just not sure what else...maybe exhaust next...
Creepy Cruiser 01-08-2009, 05:14 PM Did you ever get your hood fixed?
OUMOOSE 01-09-2009, 09:28 AM No, I am currently carrying it as a badge of honor! I am thinking of fixing it myself then just doing the line-x type stuff on the hood. I can do the body work just fine, but I no longer have paint equipment. Or, I will just do the body work and have someone shoot it for me. It just hasn't been priority yet.
Piece of sh*t gate!
TimRich 01-09-2009, 03:51 PM I'd go with the Hella's and exaust first then think about the silders... Just my opinion. The rig looks good so far...
carlosruben84 03-26-2010, 04:24 PM Moose,, would you mind sharing wheel and tire size,, I"m looking into gettine me some and really like the way they look on your X... also,, you currenlty only have a PML right?
