Jason (Muzik) When he changed bumpers put in a "Freeway Blaster" horn as he too likes to toot it a lot! Though I honestly don't notice much of a differance over the stock horn!! :)

The problem with air horns is finding a place to mount the horns and compressor.

If you don't mind the horns being on the outside, I think I found a spot right infront of the air box for a compressor. I am looking into this not for horns, but for an on-board air system.

Thats likely to give people heart attacks and cause traffic accidents!

My boss has one of those on his Suburban, and has it set up to "toot" when he sets the alarm. Not a long whail, but enough to know it is a pretty loud horn.

It would be pretty sweet to have for those punks that cut you off in 5 o'clock traffic though.

I have a 4 cfm 150 psi compressor (ExtremeAir) mounted under the hood at the passenger side firewall/fender area...I just re-located the cruise control and steering reservoirs, and it fit right in.

I have 4 Buell Locomotive Air Horns I am in the process of mounting, to be fired by the OBA (From the 4 gal tank to a solinoid from the horn relay...)...so far it looks like they might actually fit behind the grill infront of the radiator...but a triangulation brace I'm going to weld across the frame horns under there will trap two of them once they are in and its installed...so I might wait/only mount 2-3 of the 4...

Its a work in progress.

I have a FIAAM Freeway Blaster Low Tone (The high tone is more wussy) hooked up as the main horn...the OEM was too loaded with Pine Barrens Bog Water to pass inspection...

I measured the decible levels on the stock and Freeway Blaster...the Freeway was way louder...80 dba vs 120 dba...:D

NJ Inspection said the horn had to be about 90 dba to pass...the 120 at the insp station about killed him.

:D

You could also look into the HELLA horn system.

ANYTHING sounds good compared to my 04 horn, its like they just thought about a horn, I rigged up my yakima rack with everything I wanted, and I move it to my suburban also and the wiring is independent and has its own control panel, and male acc plug, on the X I just drop thru the moonroof, on suburban I just close the back door on it, I used flat trailer harness wire, in this pic I actually have a 22 gal water tank with transfer pump on the rack also, O and thats just a cheapo horn, but its fun
How embarassing, I just noticed this thread is two years old!
