: going to NorCal for a month
Donatello21 07-12-2008, 01:26 AM so I'm going to work at a sleep away camp north of san francisco. its about 422 miles from my house. i'm due for an oil change soon and i'm replacing my brake pads this weekend. is there anything else i should do to make this trip easier on my X? i made it last summer without a hitch but my rig has changed a tad bit since last summer
Kamikaze 07-12-2008, 01:28 AM How north may I ask? As in the Santa Rosa area.
Donatello21 07-12-2008, 01:49 AM hells yeah, camp newman off of porter creek road. says 707, i know that area code lol
k1w1t1m 07-12-2008, 07:15 AM Your Xterra should be fine. Just make sure the fluids are changed /topped off.
soccerbrace 07-12-2008, 11:15 AM Make sure the tires are good. FOr long trips Justin, do not do energy drinks, but caffiene rather. Iced coffee is your friend. Just go to Starbucks and ask for an iced quad espresso with cream. It will taste like earwax but don't worry about that.
Also, sunflower seeds are a good snack because you have to concentrate and work to get them so your brain is always thinking "If I turn it this way with my cheek, and my tongue turns it that way, then my teeth will be in perfect cracking position methinks"

Good point on the tires, don't forget the correct pressure, that could influence the gas consumption.
MMMMmmmmm iced coffee....line them up!!!

Alright, next time you order a drink, order an iced venti caramel macchiato and ask for cinnamon dolce instead of vanilla. Then thank me, then give me rep points for being a coffee badass.
Donatello21 07-12-2008, 01:33 PM oh i was def planning on starbux stops, i'm an americano fan. i also should be getting new tires this week as well. but i think i'm just going to go with some highway tires or a light a/t to save some mulah. thanks for the tips :)
